23.01.2022 Lighthouse Arts Collective is excited to be hosting Anne E Stewart at New Hall for a special evening of storytelling. An acclaimed storyteller with an international reputation, Annes focus is on the shared stories of Australia honoring Indigenous, Celtic, Asian and World stories. Her extensive career has seen her share her talent with some of Australias major cultural institutions, including on ABC Radio and TV. She is a much-celebrated presence on the storytelling festival circuit, having traveled throughout Australia, the UK, Mexico, Iran, and Colombia to bring her stories to global audiences. This 1.5-hour workshop is a unique opportunity to delve into the craft of storytelling. With the skilled guidance of Anne, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for language and the power of a good story, told well.

12.01.2022 Salt Contemporary Art presents... Lux Anemograph Exhibition The Lux Anemographs are kinetic sculptural drawing instruments which respond to wind. These instruments are designed for travel and are set up in different locations. Windcups transfer wind energy up the axis to finally motivate the light on the long vane. On the end of a long boom mounted on swivels and windvanes, a bright light dances around and traces a drawing in space, which can be recorded on a long exposure p...hotograph. It is a way of drawing with light. These photographs are artworks that describe other conditions such as location, atmospheric conditions, and time. Cameron Robbins works to make tangible the underlying structures and rhythms of natural forces. This incredible documentary features conversations with more than 45 artists spanning six decades of Australian music, including Tina Arena, Julia Stone, Eleanor Dixon, Nai Palm and many more. Together they unveil the personal, historical and social legacies of an incredible journey. But wait! To make this night EVEN MORE SPECIAL we are teaming up with No Lights No Lycra Point Lonsdale who will curate an ALL Australian, ALL female music playlist featuring artists from the film.
