21.01.2022 In effort to try limit the spread of Covid-19 infection specially to our vulnerable patients, We have now enabled the new phone consults system , you can book this online or by phoning the clinic. The service will be bulk billed for the eligible patients ( listed below as per medicare) , otherwise a private fee will apply. Vulnerable/isolated patients are those where at least ONE of the following apply: (a) the person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a p...atient of a hospital; or (b) the person has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or (c) the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is: (i) at least 70 years old; or (ii) at least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or (iii) is pregnant; or (iv) is a parent of a child under 12 months; or (v) is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or (d) the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection

A reminder to all our patients , who are at high risk for skin cancers/ melanomas , please dont delay your skin checks , it could save your life. Generally high risk means any or combination of the following: - Very fair skin/ red hair. ... - Previous melanomas or skin cancers. - Family history of melanoma, - Numerous moles ( more than 100) or odd looking, - Changing or new moles, - History of prolonged sun exposure and burns. - Use of solariums or sun lamps or sun tanning. You dont need to call ahead if you attend one of the following fever clinics, however as there is a shortage of swabs, testing will be restricted to only those people who are vulnerable, who meet the case definition criteria.... Hi everyone , as the Coronavirus situation continues to escalate , we want to be clear on our current policy. 1- we would like to continue helping our patients as much and as long as we can , but if any of the staff or doctors become infected , they are required by law to stay home until clear from infection which can be at least 2 weeks. We could potentially face a complete shut down if there are no sufficient staff which would significantly impact many of our u...nwell patients. 2- So to prevent spread of the infection to our patients specially those with low immune system and also our staff, we ask you if you feel unwell with any upper respiratory symptoms ( fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough) please DO NOT COME to the clinic. If its a mild infection , please stay at home until you recover. If youre concerned or have severe symptoms , please call us first , the the staff will direct you on what to do next. We stress about the importance of this specially for those who have returned from overseas or have been a contact of any confirmed case of Coronavirus. 3- We are currently short on the protective equipment needed for testing suspected patients, and we cannot get it from anywhere. this is state wide shortage and we cannot do much about it. We urge the government to support us more if we are expected to help in this crisis. 4- Please note a lot of people have recovered from this infection, it has been stated that the flu mortality rate is still higher than with Coronavirus. We advise everyone to be aware of this infection as it can be highly contagious, If you have a fever and a rash, we advise that you call the practice and discuss it with the staff before you come to the clinic as we may need to take special precautions to prevent spread. If you have been in contact with a person who has confirmed measles , you will also need to notify your doctor. Stay safe.

04.01.2022 Hi Guys, another update: so far business is still as usual , we are taking all precautions to prevent any spread of infection, i urge you to do so too. If you have any cold / flu symptoms, please dont come in, those who attend the clinic please make sure to use the proper respiratory hand / face hygiene. All our staff are advised to stay home if unwell and check with doctors before coming back. You can now book general appointments ( not just skin checks ) with dr Georgeo...s at Somerville st clinic on Mon/ Tuesdays. Dr Khozam is working at Somerville clinic on Wednesdays and Dr Buadromo on Fridays , online booking is not available for those 2 days , you will need to phone either clinics to book. Rest of the doctors & services are as usual. Thank you.
