11.01.2022 Learning at Home What do you do when school is closed? Maths and learning at home! As school was closed, we found a fun and educational way to incorporate maths into our routine. We all need numeracy and maths skills to do everyday things like solving problems, understanding patterns and making choices. Addition strategies we’re stuck on the wall, with the correct numbers scattered on the floor. This was a great way to enhance our number recognition and problem solving... skills! We also did an emotion game where the written emotion had to match the correct face. Not only did this help to enhance word and letter recognition, but it also allowed for a conversation to develop about expressing feelings and emotions! To end our fun and educational experience, we wrote a story together and drew pictures to match! We used our imagination and added all special things we loved. We looked on the map and read through all the stations on the green line. We also learnt how important it is to stand behind the yellow line. ... 03.01.2022 Cafe outing Today was our last full day together before one of the children goes off to big school! We went to a local cafe for morning tea where the children had some yummy milkshakes and some banana bread The children were able to enhance their social skills and their verbal communication skills as they ordered their specific flavoured milkshakes all by themselves! ... They were given some colouring books which became a great way for the children to chill out and colour in before their food and drinks came.
