25.01.2022 This year has encouraged us to stay connected with each other more than ever, but have you taken the time to ask the people around you and your loved ones, R U OK? Today is a reminder to not only reach out and ask the question, but also to remember that 'there's more to say after R U OK?'. Make the time to listen, encourage action and check in.... A conversation could save a life. For more information, go to: https://www.ruok.org.au/

23.01.2022 LRM answered the call to undertake pre burn prep for Nail Can Hill, Albury this week ahead of today's HRB. Crews cleared over 200 threatened trees to ensure they won't be impacted. Well done team!

22.01.2022 Furthering our capabilities to protect fauna during the implementation of prescribed burns, LRM Fire & Rescue have been authorised under the Qld Nature Conservation (Administration) Regulation 2017 a 'Rehabilitation Permit' for Spotter Catcher Activities in Qld. 13.01.2022 Yesterday we had the privilege of presenting Aiden Lock his Certificate IV in Public Safety (Firefighting Supervision). Aiden is an integral part of the LRM team and for the past four years and regularly undertakes the role of Sector Commander and principal Spotter Catcher for our planned burns and operational bushfire response and Team Leader for our stand by rescue obligations in addition to facilitating technical rescue training for LRM Training. Aiden has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead personnel across all facets of our groups projects both planned and from a response perspective culminating in the presentation of his Cert IV. Well done mate, we look forward to building on what you've achieved to date!

12.01.2022 Facilitating fire management planning for remote biodiversity offset properties takes us to some pretty cool places... Just have to get there first!

10.01.2022 Happy International Firefighters Day, we salute you all

05.01.2022 LRM Fire & Rescue in partnership with LRM Training facilitated a multi level training program for members of a NSW Local Council in: - Level 1 Firefighter - Level 2 Senior Firefighter - Level 4 Burn Planner... The blended delivery included pre course online theory, site analysis and risk assessments, burn planning and mapping; burn preparation day establishing mini APZs for significant trees and potential habitat; burn day including experimenting with various ignition strategies and tactics to maintain control and low/moderate intensity; followed by a patrolling day for blacking out and post burn reporting. The training is specifically tailored to Council whereby they can work towards autonomously facilitating their own ecological burns. Special shout out to Karuah RFS Brigade for coming down to check on us and top up our big girl! #LRM2020 #Bushfireresilience

02.01.2022 Having recently received our Spotter Catchers permit, it didn't take long for Aiden Lock to spring into action to relocate a carpet python from the fireground today!
