21.01.2022 Each year thousands of people flock to Tatiara’s Walkway Gallery, which became a leader in its field in 2016, hosting a prized Ben Quilty exhibition. In one mon...th the Quilty exhibition attracted more than 7500 people to Bordertown and the South East. It was the first time a regional gallery had ever exhibited collection work from the Art Gallery of SA. The Walkway Gallery is one of only four A-class art exhibition sites in regional South Australia, meaning it has stringent climate and light controls necessary for showcasing valuable art work. Behind the popular facility is Lucindale raised gallery director and arts and cultural development manager, Naomi Fallon. We have a formula that works, she said. The t...rain from Kingston used to run between the main building and the shed, which is why the shed is built up so high. It made it easier to unload goods from the train. It's good to see the buildings are still around 100+ years later. Shame that the business wasn't taken better care of...I think it closed circa 2006? My family had it from 1995-2004. See more
