11.01.2022 I received a message from a friend and client that she had a friend who’s daughter neede her hair done for her formal. BUT, she had been traumatised as a child due to a bad experience and not to mention cutting her hair or the word scissors. I did Miss S’s hair out of the main salon well away from any sharps to create complete comfort. At the end of the appointment she said Mum, I want to have my hair done more often... #notjustahomehairstylist

09.01.2022 What do you do when you can’t work due to isolation? You practice on the fam... Miss M wanted a new colour, 2 sessions and 8-9 hours later... Often I am sent inspiration pics for new colours but the process can be quite involved. I like to educate clients on how we go about achieving the result and how to look after their new colour (or style). If you’d like some advice I’m more than happy to share (allowing some time to get back to you as quite often there’s no easy answer)!

06.01.2022 I get questions all the time regarding thinning hair. This is my response: It helps to know what shampoo and conditioner do! Shampoo opens the outside layer of the hair (the cuticle) and removes impurities (oil dirt etc) which is why hairdressers recommend 2 shampoos. The first opens the cuticle the second cleans the hair. Conditioner closes the cuticle, locks it down and protects the hair by doing so. Shampoo & conditioner have ingredients that can help the hair, but neither... of these things will repair the hair only clean and protect. To repair damage on the hair shaft a treatment is necessary, dependant on what your particular damage needs. Colour, heat, sun, wind, all damage the hair. Each type and amount of damage requires different types of treatments. Protein, moisture, and bond repair treatments are all different. If I have a client who requires assistance for thinning hair my first piece of advice is to see your doctor!!! My second is a hair, skin and nails supplement are easy to add to you daily routine (check with dr that they won’t interfere with any other medications) Then I suggest a system like nioxin or joico cliniscalp or the system I love as it is more natural is Milkshake Energising Blend. The milkshake I feel looks after the hair and the scalp better. If none of that helps (you’ll need to try these for 2-3 months to notice a difference). The systems are all a 3 step system. Shampoo, conditioner and a leave in scalp treatment, this last product is the active ingredient to boost blood flow to the scalp and improve follicle health. After that I suggest to see a dermatologist! I have had great success with many clients using this advice... If you have a specific concern comment below or shoot me a message...
