21.01.2022 There seems to be a theme when I compete...weird faces! Fun day at Mount Crawford Dressage Club. Maloney was great, Novice 2B 71.54% and 2C 67.5%. Quite a long wait for second test he was a bit flat but super pleased with him. Came away with two seconds in the open class after a pretty awesome winner Thanks to Emma for your great company and Hilary for the beautiful photos.....you always capture my weirdness I do have sideways rain to thank this time! Super fun competition, thanks to all

21.01.2022 Times/details for Cromwell Park will be emailed out first thing tomorrow morning

21.01.2022 Annie (covergirl BHI) didn’t really want to touch anything, no one told her I hadn’t jumped for years Only left the ground a couple of times pre today and really getting the hang of it....might get the jumping bug back Thanks Em for coming and Leonie for getting evidence

20.01.2022 Very happy with Mr Maloney at the weekend. His first Elementary 3b at Adelaide Hills Dressage Club. He really made me smile with his thumbs up to our training so far. Hit some 8’s in some of the questions at a new level, which was lovely. He scored a 68.5% and a first. Enjoy every moment taking him and Annie out. Annie did her first ride around at a competition. Things that make you smile

19.01.2022 Because Christmas is a time you can say thank you! I'd like to thank all my clients and people who have supported me through 2020. Clinics, regular lessons, I'm lucky to love what I do. I wish you all a Merry festive season and a happy 2021. Annie gave the nod to below photo

18.01.2022 Busy weekend. Everyone's tired Annie's first weekend away, (her ears are surely aching after being pointed forward ALL weekend..... Intrigued by bicycle wheelies, small people, ponies, the big city lights, ducks, chickens), many adventures! Maloney supported and had a play at MCDC charity Dressage Day on the way to me coaching at Maliepark Equestrian. Annie watched on, nearly ready for her first taste of competing. Be fun having 2 to take out after so long of not doing

18.01.2022 Dear Annie, Cover Girl BHI’s only second time in a Dressage arena. She rode through the 1A and 1B. Scoring 68% and 2nd in both tests. Very proud of her and she proved (yet again) her love of jumping, twice she locked on to the white Dressage boards, ready to jump. Not been in an arena with white boards before and how tempted she was Then I had a ‘zone out’ moment in my second test and got beeped. Things to takeaway from the weekend...... 1- teach Annie the difference betw...een white Dressage boards and jumps! 2- try not to be so tired before a competition so you’re not completely out of it, thinking about A frames, carousel poles and possibly what you’re cooking for dinner. Apologies to the judge for making them get out of the car with my lack of function! Actually thinking about it....can blame the kitten and puppy!! (Photo captures the ‘how stupid am I’ post test ) Thanks to Adelaide Hills Dressage Club for a lovely event and Emma for being my laughing partner and help.

17.01.2022 A lovely surprise from ‘Leonie Tagan Photography’!

15.01.2022 A few shots from an awesome weekend at Mountain Pony Club. Thanks to all for coming and supporting. I thank you and hope you had a blast

13.01.2022 Annie (Covergirl BHI) had her first look at cross country today at Sunburst Equestrian. Loved water , slightly bemused by holes in the ground that you jump?! Lots of learning and me remembering what it feels like after so long. I have muscles aching that don’t normally ache Thanks to ‘Lynn Ruesseler Photography’ for capturing the virgin voyage

11.01.2022 Have a working phone number again. There’s been an impromptu contacts clear out after leaving phone under a random tree in the middle of nowhere. If you regularly text or phone me....please send a text to usual number with your full name so I can store you!

11.01.2022 Very proud of Maloney at last weekend’s 2021 EAC Animal Care SA State Dressage Championships. It was only his fourth start at Elementary level, so a bit of a test being at the championships but he really tried. The tests felt quite solid at this level but as always things to work on. A 66.9 % in the 3B and 67% in the 3C for 3rd. This gave us an overall 5th in the championship, so very happy with him. The weird, concentrating/weather faces came out again (note to self must pr...actice game face), thanks to some good old rain followed by the yellow thing Thank you to Mount Barker Horseland for sponsoring the Elementary class and to MCDC for an as always fun, well run event. Thanks to Emma for your smiley company and Hilary for the brilliant moment capturing photo’s (I’m sure I subconsciously pull faces to make you laugh). The things that make you smile and keep you happy

08.01.2022 Had an interesting week! Mad busy few days fitting in coaching up at Southern Flinders Dressage club last Friday/ Saturday got home late, had a quick ride under lights as competing next day. First thing Sunday someone (!) went for a yeeeeehaaaa around paddock before being beautified. Get to venue, warm up.... slightly unlevel. Had to scratch. Found some heat in left fore hoof. Got home and we used the laser temperature gun and found heat in the heel, Neil Jamieson did an... Emmett, lower leg release that stimulates lymphatics and frees up blood flow, got the temp down by 4 degrees. Quite amazing to watch and see the immediate temp change Timing couldn't have been better as Stephane Tournier (the fcking foot engineer) one of my awesome farriers was due from interstate the next day. After using his Krosscheck, leverage testing device found reactivity in 2 spots. Such an interesting diagnostic tool. Reshod with total focus as always of the hoof/pastern axis. Horse sound. So cool seeing, learning, adding ideas and tools to continually keep the animals happy. Open minded and experimental You really never stop learning about your horses.... what works for them, who works for them. When you've been down many paths and find a good road See more
