25.01.2022 Last Sunday the 2020 Annual General Meeting for the Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group was held at the Ludlow Mill Settlement, followed by a morning tea and a tour of the site for those that were interested. Evelyn Taylor, our President for the last 2.5 years, is taking a break from that role, but remaining as a committee member, and Des Donnelly, our Vice President, has taken over as President. We thank Evelyn for all the hard work she has put in as President during tha...t time. Also Lyn McMahon, who has been our Treasurer for the past 2.5 years, has also stood down from that post which has been taken on for the present by Peta Taylor. We also thank Lyn for all her hard work in such a difficult job. Tonina Pinneri has been our Secretary for the past year and is also taking a break from that position, which is now being filled by Bill Biggins. We thank Tonina for all she has done for the group. All these people still remain on our committee as committed members. Two new committee members were elected at the AGM : Simon Hotchins and Alan Coyne, and we welcome them. It's always good to have new people with fresh ideas. The AGM was well attended by over 30 people and several chose to do the tour of the site following the morning tea. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

19.01.2022 This large log has been installed in the old Mill at Ludlow. This building is to be restored and set up with all the old equipment to show how timber was milled in days gone by. Gradually the whole Settlement will be restored as we raise the funds to do this. If you would like to help us in this endeavour, and also to restore the Tuart forest, please join our group to show your support. Membership and Tuart seedling sponsorship can be done on line. Follow the link to our website below. Only $10 lifetime membership. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

17.01.2022 These beautiful Clivias are for sale at $10 a small pot. All proceeds going to our group. They can be picked up from 185 Peppermint Grove Tce Peppermint Grove Beach ... Ring Evelyn on 0439138800 to arrange a time that someone will be there for pick up, or just call in. This is very good value, as these are far more expensive from a nursery. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

13.01.2022 It was a good morning's work at our busybee this morning at the Ludlow Mill Settlement. Lots of fire and smoke as the fire brigade came and helped us to burn all our piles of rubbish, twigs and leaves that we have been piling up all year, waiting to burn before the fire ban season starts. The site is starting to look so clean and tidy around the cottages, ready to eventually start restoring them to their original state. Thanks so much firies, making it all so safe for us today. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

13.01.2022 Busybee tomorrow morning from 8am. Change of plans, and we will now be burning the piles of rubbish, cuttings, etc. that we have already accumulated, before the fire ban season starts. So mainly raking up and adding to these piles. Bring some morning tea and a drink for when we take a break. The fire brigade will be present. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

12.01.2022 Last week a group of students from Curtin University came to Ludlow to make a short film as part of an assignment for their drama course. Our President Des Donnelly's granddaughter, Tully Jones, was one of these students, and this photo was taken by Pat Worrell, one of our committee members, who was Tully's teacher in primary school. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

11.01.2022 Hope everyone is saving their containers !! We would love you to donate the money to our cause. It only takes about 10 mins to drop them off in Wright St Busselton and donate the money to The Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group. Our ID. number is C10315688. 100 containers equals $10, which may not seem a lot of money, but if everyone does this, it adds up, and will be put to good use in our endeavour to restore the Tuart Forest and the old Mill Settlement. Save those lef...tovers from your Christmas cheer and help the Forest !! If you don't live anywhere near Ludlow, you can still donate your containers to our group. Just find where you nearest collection point is, and use the ID above. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/

04.01.2022 On Sunday 6th December our regular monthly busybee will take on a different form at the Ludlow Mill Settlement. Instead of working around the Settlement, at 9am we will be having a presentation to the Shire of Capel President, Michael Southwell, with media coverage, to thank the Capel Shire for their contribution and grants to our group. This will be followed by a morning tea, after which, an information session will be held to bring people up to date with all they have helpe...d us to achieve this past year, despite all the difficulties 2020 has presented. Following this talk, anyone wishing to join a tour of the planting site and the Settlement is welcome. Finally, at lunchtime there will be a barbecue. Anyone wishing to attend any, or all, of these activities is welcome, but we do ask anyone wishing to attend the barbecue to please RSVP by text to Carole on 0415871281 to assist with catering.Tea,coffee and drinking water will be supplied, but we ask you to BYO any other drinks you wish to have. We hope to see as many interested people as possible to showcase our work for this year Thank you. https://www.ludlowtuartforest.org.au/
