16.01.2022 Well it's been awhile, but the FIRELIGHT team have been flat out working towards a bigger and better event next year. While there's still plenty of work to be done, we're very pleased that, providing projected funding arrangements fall into place, the multi-award winning international lighting design company Mandylights will be joining the Firelight team, working with Velvet Corner Productions, Genius Laser Technology Pty Ltd - Laser Show Production Services and Jason Saunders to create a fully immersive 3D lighting and laser spectacular across Mt Roland and the forest and fields below. Stay tuned for more big announcements here in the near future!

16.01.2022 Brian Carlton talks about FireLight 17 and the support we need from the Government. It is time for the State and Federal Governments to commit to a longer term ...funding package. This community driven and administered project has delivered all it has said it would. It is time for the Will Hodgman Government to show the same sort of grit as this TEAM of Tasmanians wanting to bring this amazing show to the "WORLD's BIGGEST DRIVE IN". Mt Roland or Magic Mountain as it is becoming known is a part of Tasmania's Outdoor Art Gallery as per the Kentish Council There will be a show in 2018, we are currently working on what that will be with the funding we are able to guarantee. We need your support, come on Tasmania give Brian a call at Tasmania Talks and voice your support for this amazing project, he wants to hear from you. Come on Premier @Will Hodgman it is time for your Government to show they are "Hooked" as you said yourself.. See more

14.01.2022 2019 Due to the cost of running our Lumen Festival and the inability to attract sponsorship for the current year, we are unfortunately having to announce to all of the people who were looking forward to the show this year that it will be in recess. We are hoping to see future financial support for the show coming forward again. Thank you to all who have supported FireLight and the Lumen Festival in previous years.

11.01.2022 Sheffield in Colour captured by Dan Fellow Hoping all our #FireLight17 patrons visited for a look at Sheffield.

10.01.2022 #FinanceBrokersofTasmania #FireLight17 "Lighting up the Sky" at #MtRoland #Sheffield #Tasmania

10.01.2022 A short trailer of #FIRELIGHT17 To our knowledge the largest laser animation ever screened at 3.6km x 800m, with a soundtrack broadcast on FM radio, this really was the #worldsbiggestdrivein

09.01.2022 Well we are now approaching the next journey for Lumen Festival which will incorporate "Sheffield in Colour" for 2020. It is our intention to bring to Sheffield, a free event for the public as part of Sheffield in Colour in May 2020, in Kings Park in Sheffield. This will be done via the generosity of all involved, Events Tasmania, hopefully the Kentish Council and private sponsors of whom we are still looking for further sponsorships. Please contact Des Brown on 0429 911 51...7 if you are interested in assisting us. We will be using cutting edge laser technology, which shows the 30 minute laser animation first seen in FIRELIGHT17, projected across the back wall of the Sheffield Town Hall, along with an added voiceover telling the story to the world class sound/music score of Dean Stevenson. LUMEN tells the story of Tasmania from its ancient geological formation through to the present, including its unique megafauna, forests, ancient and modern human stories, including its industrial and environmental traditions. LUMEN is a synthesis of the ancient and the contemporary, a story relevant to all of us as we face the challenges of our shared future. Rock paintings have survived thousands of years to tell stories through a language of physical representation and natural metaphor. LUMEN melds this ancient tradition with modern animating techniques to bring to life the history of Mt Roland and its surrounds. After the screening of LUMEN a 15 minute laser skyshow will "LIGHT UP THE HEAVENS". Set to a powerful sound score, it will "amaze and awe". This free event, as a highlight of Sheffield in Colour, will be an introduction, and reminder, of the world class potential revealed in the 2017 Mt Roland FIRELIGHT festival trial, of an event built around telling stories with lasers across the rugged cliff faces of Mt Roland.

01.01.2022 Lighting up Sheffield in Colour is part of the FireLight17 project and is being drive along by our very own Jason Saunders. This story in The Advocate outlines Jason's ideas and vision for the future. Well done Jason Saunders giving Sheffield shops a real new decor with a very painless uplift. Some amazing sites from the Baptist Church stained glass window, Slater's store, Mountain Mummas waterfall, Fudge n Good Coffee amazing mural and the Sheffield Hotel with the Emporium. Add to that the stunning old supermarket building and you have a real WOW factor.
