21.01.2022 Standing in the courtyard under the magnificent fig tree on Friday morning, it struck me just how much love was present in this place. How it absolutely poured off every leaf in the garden, glittered on every surface of the cottage, & gravitated up from the ground with every blade of grass. The air is thick with love there in a way that is truly magical We were so sad to receive the news on Saturday that overnight this magical place had been devastated by fire. We are so re...lieved & full of gratitude that the Figtree team & our beautiful couple were all evacuated safely Sending so much love to the Figtree family in their time of grief. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to bringing love & joy to so many couples over the years. 13.01.2022 Hey that’s me I don’t often share much about my personal life but 2020 was a wild a one so here goes Last year brought along many unexpected surprises for everyone but particularly for our family. Some surprises were pretty awful & others so delightful we could barely contain ourselves! The start of the year felt like a never ending rollercoaster of emotions for this little business. We went from a fully booked year to rescheduling 80% of our work for 2020 seemingly over...night. As for many wedding vendors, it was hard not to feel like we were potentially grieving the end of our business (for the time being at least). There came a point where I just had to throw my hands up & surrender to the universe because there was nothing else left to do. Then came the biggest surprise of all. We had finally managed a very big win in our fertility journey the path to starting a family has not been an easy one for us to navigate. My journey started at the age of 19 when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor & told I might never have children. We didn’t know if it was going to be a total pipe dream & it certainly wasn’t an easy road. We have been low key with our excitement as there were still so many unknowns for us, but here we are almost at the finish line & already so in love with our little girl! Feeling so grateful for this gift of being able to experience pregnancy & we are so looking forward to welcoming this little soul earth side Thank you to my husband for holding my hand through the darkest days/months/years of my life. Your endless optimism has been both irritating at times & life saving Thank you to our amazing couples for inviting me to document their love stories - a job that truly fills my soul with joy & a privilege I am so thankful for we are looking forward to our busiest year yet in 2021! & an extra special thanks to our friend @brendan_back for taking some snaps of us while we were babymooning in Byron Bay 2020 may not have been the year we had planned but we sure are grateful for it
