At LUSC Bendigo we firmly believe that football is for everyone and will continue to support the participation of people within this community. #WeFlyAsOne #prideinsport #pridefootballaustralia

23.01.2022 Great to see and hear all the juniors returning to competition this week. Fantastic news for football in the region as we approach some level of normality. Big congratulations to Bendigo Amateur Soccer League Inc. - BASL to being able to provide football to well over 1000 people in the region! While we don’t have any Juniors we hope that one day in the future this may be something we can do as we look to further consolidate our position within the football community In the ...meantime our seniors are working towards their opening games of the season on the 26th July, just a mere 22 days away. The countdown is on! #WeFlyAsOne

20.01.2022 Weekly Awards 3/3 The Tool of the Week award. Everyone’s gotta have one! The TotW award is a great way to share with everyone at the club the funny stories of the week. There’s been some great stories and some tough decisions on who gets the award. The #morethanfamily saga, the birth of our very own Karen and warming up in the away kit after forgetting your home kit are just some of the antics of our previous winners ... Tool of the Week Trivia - It is sometimes referred to as the piazza award. - It was thrown out the window of a moving car in the streets of Bendigo, only to be found and returned to the club by a club member driving by - stolen from the first pub on our pub crawl, only to be later stolen back from the culprit at the final destination - forgetting, losing and not wearing the award is a fineable offence and has caught out many of the recipients As an award, it’s definitely got a lot of history and much like our other awards, is highly iconic at the club #morethanfamily #weflyasone

20.01.2022 A great effort by both our teams on Sunday, with the LTW's bringing home a win 4-0 and the men's drawing 3-3 against Castlemaine! We'd like to say a huge thank you to Golden City FC for hosting us at their grounds. Community clubs like ours may compete against each other but without each other we cannot enjoy the game we love. Congratulations also to Matilda Gall, Cress Ndikumana, Josh Naunton and Ryan Carey who all scored their first goals for the club! #weflyasone

19.01.2022 At our club we understand many of our supporters are friends and family who can’t attend our games. So this year we were looking at ways to bring the game to you! Before covid-19 claimed the first half of our season the club was looking to livestream our home games. With covid likely restricting spectator attendance keep an eye out on our socials for more info regarding live-streams and video content in future weeks #WeFlyAsOne

18.01.2022 At LUSC Bendigo we like to present 3 weekly awards to recognise the contributions our members make to the club each week. Each award is unique in its own way and is decided by the loudest cheer. First of the 3 awards is the cricket bat*. The cricket bat is awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond to help the club out during the week. It was introduced as a means to recognise and acknowledge the lifeblood of any community club, the volunteers. ... It’s a highly valued and respected award at the club. As such it is considered disrespectful to touch the bat under any circumstance if you are not the current recipient of the award. Doing so is punishable by club fine. Currently Lachie Kerrins has been nominated the most for this award despite only winning it a small handful of times. The frequency of his nominations is one of the reasons why he was awarded club person of the year in 2019! * don’t ask us why it’s a cricket bat, we have absolutely no idea why

05.01.2022 Huge news for football in this country, Even bigger news for women’s football in this country! With the growth of women’s sport in the the last 5-10 years it should be a grand spectacle!

05.01.2022 Club Statement Dear all our beloved members. It is with great sadness we must inform you that the BASL 2020 seniors competition has been cancelled. With recent government advice pushing contact training back a further 4 weeks the difficult decision was made as the clubs felt a viable season could not be achieved. ... As a collective we’re all very disappointed. It was going to be another great year. The teams had been putting in the hard yards to improve on 2019s results. Meanwhile the committee has and will continue to work in the background to improve the club. While we cannot make any offical announcement we will endeavour to provide some form of football when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, stay safe, follow social distancing measures and maintain good hygiene so we beat covid-19 Yours in football Zac Gilmour #WeFlyAsOne

Peter Siddle, is an Australian cricketer lauded for being a team player, having a big heart and being a downright top person. Traits we value quite highly at our club. ... The Peter Siddle award is to recognise not the best player, but the player who shows the most heart on the field. Never giving up, constantly trying your best, playing at great sacrifice to yourself (injury, illness or studies) have all been sure-fire ways to get yourself nominated for this award. Upon receiving this highly coveted award the recipient mis required to yell the famous line "Peter Siddle got a hattrick on his birthday!" as seen in the video In honour of one of his most iconic moments, any player who scores a hattrick will be awarded the Peter Siddle award by default.
