22.01.2022 Can you believe it?! Two weeks ago we raised over $40,000 for our Double Donation Day campaign! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU We know how difficult 2020 has been for everyone and we appreciate every bit of your support. Your generous donations have ensured we can continue to support families and individuals that need urgent assistance. A big thank you to Beyond Bank which selected Lutheran Community Care as one of only 30 national charities to participate in this fundraising event

21.01.2022 LCC Alice Springs celebrated NAIDOC Week 2020 with a community event on Wednesday, which included food, music, stalls, giveaways and a pop-up op shop. We also celebrated at Ntaria with the local school and appreciated the opportunity to engage with this community Well done to our amazing staff in Central Australia who organised and participated in these successful events

18.01.2022 It's NAIDOC Week 2020 and LCC is joining others around the nation in celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We thought it was relevant to share this collaborative art work, which was created by our homelessness team at Morphett Vale recently. All team members contributed their handprints and their thoughts on reconciliation. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. LCC recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. 'Always Was, Always Will Be' - NAIDOC 2020 theme.

17.01.2022 LCC Alice Springs kicked off Children's Week with a fabulous stall at the local markets last weekend. We had over 80 children and their carers make photo frames to treasure and Christmas cards for our community Christmas drive later this year The creativity was endless and staff loved engaging with the local community around the services we offer in family and financial wellbeing. Well done to our Central Australia team for making this happen

13.01.2022 As South Australia enters its second day of lockdown, please be advised that Lutheran Community Care's essential services including counselling, financial counselling and emergency relief remain open. Face-to-face contact has been limited, but we will continue to be there for the most vulnerable within our communities. Please note that all of our op shops have closed. For more information, please contact us on 8269 9333 to speak to a friendly member of our team. The safety and wellbeing of the community is our top priority and we thank you for your cooperation and patience during this challenging time. Stay safe everyone - we will get through this together

10.01.2022 With restrictions eased across South Australia, we are back to the site and service delivery arrangements that were in place prior to the Parafield Cluster. However in line with current government guidelines, the following changes are in place: Previously the social distancing requirements were one person per two square metres. This has changed to one person per four sqm. All op shops have reopened with usual operating hours. The one person per four square metres rule wi...ll apply. Masks are encouraged where social distancing cannot be maintained. We thank you for your cooperation and patience during this last week. If you have any questions, please contact us on 8269 9333.

08.01.2022 This week our Peachey Place Living Skills Centre at Davoren Park moved its office and programs to The Precinct, 112 Coventry Road, Smithfield Plains. It is a fantastic new site that already houses a LCC op shop and we are excited by the opportunity to grow the reach of our services there. In partnership with the City of Playford and SA Health, we also see this as a valuable opportunity to work with those co-located at The Precinct, including the Playford Food Co-op and café,... The Men’s Shed and Playford Community Fund. It also has a great community garden! The general vision for this hub is to draw and engage local people in community building activities, skill development and provide access to needed community services. In collaboration, this will tackle social challenges and build community connections and hope. We look forward to sharing stories and outcomes in the future
