23.01.2022 This weeks topic is about melts. I was asked by your customer this week if Melts would be better for her mum then candles given her age (72) I was able to give these reasons why I thought they would be : ... 1. Wax melts can have more burn time than candles depending on the strength of fragrance you like. 2. They are cheaper average price for melts is approximately $5. Le R’e sell their melts at $5. 3. They are flame free if used with an electric melt warmer. 4. They do not release chemicals into the air. 5. You can control your scent load by the amount of wax you put in the melters dish. 6. You can mix your scents with your own personal fragrance likes, ie: vanilla and caramel or frangipani and patchouli. 7. There is no soot factor with melts. 8. You can purchase stronger fragrances custom made, they will take up to 12% fragrance load. 9. They are a safer alternative for elderly. 10. They are better for the environment. 21.01.2022 This weeks topic is Candle Safety When Burning candles extreme caution should be taken to ensure safe use. Firstly one should remove all decoration, packaging and labels before use. Always keep away from children and pets.... Always burn on a suitable heat and flame resistant surface. Do not placed directly on home furnishings, furniture or electrical appliances. Always burn candles in a safe place away from flammable materials and substances. Always trim your wick to approximately 1/4 of an inch after each burn. Do not allow any wick trimmings or other foreign materials to remain in the candle. When Burning your Candle On your first burn of the candle you should allow your candle to burn until you get a full melt pool (approx 3 to 4 hours depending on the size of your candle)i.e. the melted wax should reach the side of the container, if you do not allow this, the candle will retain a memory and you will get what is called tunnelling upon each burn. Never burn for more than 4 hours. Always try to snuff out your candle, do not blow it out as serious injuries could occur. Trim your wick before your next burn to 1/4 inch Finally know when to part with your much loved candle. Ie when there is approximately 1/4 inch left in bottom of jar. Failing to do this could see jar become too hot and crack. Now enjoy the Aromas of your beautiful candle or melt. Le R’e See more
