25.01.2022 At LUXE we create websites that are not only beautiful to look at but represent the client and how they want to be presented into the world. It's important that your website feels like you. It has to represent who you are as a person and what you have to offer people who've clicked onto your site. Recently LUXE were engaged to build a website for a very accomplished and amazing woman - Dr Sarah Tolerton. Dr Sarah Tolerton is an Australian trained Plastic and Reconstructive... Surgeon who sub-specialises in Adult and Paediatric Hand Surgery. Our brief was to create a website that was modern, sophisticated and clearly represented the skills and achievements of our client. After doing an analysis of websites in the medical profession, we felt that they were a bit outdated and more 'corporate'. Not at all representative of Dr Sarah Tolerton who is innovative, modern and sophisticated. Our agency was chosen for our fashion, beauty and lifestyle experience. We gave our client a fresh perspective on the medical industry and created a website that is on brand for her. 22.01.2022 I was on a photo shoot today and flashes of my first photo shoot came to me. I had to smile...I was on my own shoot, with my own team and now following my own entrepreneurial dreams. Rewind 30 years... I had a flash back to my first photo shoot. I was doing work experience, whilst at school for Melanie Dames Photographer’s Agency. Melanie owned the premier agency in Australia. I begged to work for her and I knew that one day I wanted to be like her and be surrounded by crea...tivity. I loved every minute of my time there and got to meet @snappytoes and @alidaddo , whom I looked up to and still admire. The photo shoot was for the iconic Australian band INXS. I remember asking rockstar, Michael Hutchence if he’d like a muffin yep, it was a moment...for both of us. He declined and asked for a beer

12.01.2022 Don’t ever let anyone dull your sparkle I've been talking to friends about this topic recently and I’ve found it’s one we all struggle with. Too often we’re afraid of what others will think so we shrink back into ourselves. We find solace and comfort in what we know. We’re worried about being made fun of and rejected. What if it’s not good enough - what if I'm not enough?... As a creative person I love to express myself in many ways. During COVID, I’ve had more time to go slow and have been experimenting with mixed media, photography, baking, interior design and floristry. I’m lucky that I have a supportive partner. He loves that I am trying new things and when we moved in together he gave me an easel as a present with a handwritten note to say ‘welcome home’. He wanted me to try my hand at painting again and find joy living in the country. So, this a my new workspace to pack orders from my new side hustle @the_luxe_editions and showcased is one of my own artworks. It’s funny, I almost painted over it and I was so critical of it at first. Now I love the vibrancy of it and it makes me happy when I see the gold flecks reflected as the sun streams in the window It kinda sparkles...

11.01.2022 Saturday evening I felt like I’d been transported to a chateau in the South of France. I dined with friends at @mount_ashby_estate in The Southern Highlands. It was a fantastic evening with great company, fine wines and French inspired cuisine. Sally Beresford @french_farmhouse_tables and her husband Chris Harvey were lovely hosts and their estate is a must when visiting the area. Fancy a road trip? Visit the #southernhighlands and enjoy their vineyard, French restaurant and... Sally’s showroom. They’re open Thursday - Sunday for lunch bookings at La Palette Restaurant. 02.01.2022 I woke up early this morning to the sound of rain falling on our tin roof. It’s a lovely sound...especially when you live on a farm and need rain, like we do. I fill the jug, flick the switch and wait till the kettle almost boils. It’s early and I don’t want to wake the house. I can hear the hum of the dairy starting. It’s dark and cold. I’m thankful I can stay in the house. It’s the perfect weather to snuggle up with a blanket and do nothing.... I pour myself a cup of tea from legendary health retreat - The Golden Door. It’s my favourite blend and I often make it to keep in the fridge for occasions just like this... [Recipe] Enjoy the healing powers of citrus, ginger, garlic and honey. This recipe has been brewed at Golden Door for over 20 years. Ingredients: 3 garlic cloves, chopped 5cm piece of fresh ginger, chopped 4 lemons, thinly sliced 1 cinnamon stick 3 tablespoons honey Method Bring 2 litres of water to the boil in a pan. Add garlic, ginger, lemon slices and cinnamon to the boiling water and allow to simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off heat and allow to stand for 30 mins before straining. Drink warm or cold. This tea will last for about 1 week in the fridge. Note: If the tea is too strong for your taste, you can add more water Enjoy! #selfcaresunday
