It was an amazement for a 12yo to receive $25 for the day on the water, I would’ve done it for nothing! A few years of close quarters manoeuvring with a single screw vessel was a great training ground for a keen young boatie! ..... In 2009 I revisited the club, this time as the Master of a new Sunseeker Manhattan 70. The same Pilot 18 tender with Yanmar 20hp diesel is still serving well.. .. 02.01.2022 I’m saddened to hear of this tragic accident scene at a beautiful place just visited and celebrated last week - Island Head Creek. It appears these two guys have struck an object at planing speed, and sadly both passed away.. A somber reminder of keeping a lookout posted, and using all available means to avoid collision.. (Incl Radar where fitted.) I sold this make of catamaran for a few years in Sydney, and am pleased to see the structural performance of the hull & flotation following the accident.. in some other craft, this may have been a mystery disappearance. Sincere condolences to the families of the two crew. @ Rosslyn Bay
