25.01.2022 Chase Carey appears to be putting the idea of a Miami GP on the back burner. F1 owner Liberty Media, which is headed by CEO Carey, has been championing the idea of a second US grand prix at Miamis Hard Rock stadium. But local opposition groups are fighting hard against the idea, with the latest news being the launching of legal action.... Carey admitted to the German-language motorsport-total.com that he is "frustrated" by the situation. "We knew that it would take time in the US," he said. "On the other hand, it has to be said that it will take longer than expected. "Its frustrating because we have invested a lot of time, but I think we have to get to terms with the reality that it is a timeframe of more than five years. "The goal now is a race in the next five to ten years from today," Carey added. He might now turn his attention to the former US GP venue at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Recent reports suggested new owner Roger Penske may be interested in F1. "I know the Penskes and had contact with them before they bought Indianapolis," said Carey. "But I dont want to comment on our conversations. "We know about their interest. We are talking about an iconic circuit that is part of the triple crown with Monaco and Le Mans. That says everything about the importance of this circuit in motorsport." (GMM) Source Grandprix.com

19.01.2022 Mattia Binotto, Managing Director Gestione Sportiva and Team Principal "This is a decision taken jointly by ourselves and Sebastian, one which both parties feel is for the best. It was not an easy decision to reach, given Sebastians worth as a driver and as a person. There was no specific reason that led to this decision, apart from the common and amicable belief that the time had come to go our separate ways in order to reach our respective objectives. Sebastian is already ...part of the Scuderias history, with his 14 Grands Prix wins making him the third most successful driver for the team, while he is also the one who has scored the most points with us. In our five years together, he has finished in the top three of the Drivers Championship three times, making a significant contribution to the teams constant presence in the top three of the Constructors classification. On behalf of everyone at Ferrari, I want to thank Sebastian for his great professionalism and the human qualities he has displayed over these five years, during which we shared so many great moments. We have not yet managed to win a world title together, which would be a fifth for him, but we believe that we can still get a lot out of this unusual 2020 season" Sebastian Vettel #5 "My relationship with Scuderia Ferrari will finish at the end of 2020. In order to get the best possible results in this sport, its vital for all parties to work in perfect harmony. The team and I have realised that there is no longer a common desire to stay together beyond the end of this season. Financial matters have played no part in this joint decision. Thats not the way I think when it comes to making certain choices and it never will be. Whats been happening in these past few months has led many of us to reflect on what are our real priorities in life. One needs to use ones imagination and to adopt a new approach to a situation that has changed. I myself will take the time I need to reflect on what really matters when it comes to my future. Scuderia Ferrari occupies a special place in Formula 1 and I hope it gets all the success it deserves. Finally, I want to thank the whole Ferrari family and above all its tifosi all around the world, for the support they have given me over the years. My immediate goal is to finish my long stint with Ferrari, in the hope of sharing some more beautiful moments together, to add to all those we have enjoyed so far."

19.01.2022 To our valued members, ANZAC Day is day of remembrance, and has always been the most important day for our two Clubs, Hurstville RSL and South Hurstville RSL. We are saddened that this will be the first year in a long time that we will not be hosting our ANZAC Day Dawn Service. Theres no doubt that ANZAC Day 2020 will be very different to ANZAC Days of previous years. However while we will not be gathering at services or marches, there are still ways we can pause and reflec...t to remember those who have served our nation and made the ultimate sacrifice. How You Can Commemorate ANZAC Day 2020: Keep the ANZAC Spirit Alive At 6am on ANZAC Day, #lightupthedawn by standing at the end of your driveway, on your balcony or in your living room to remember all those who have served and sacrificed. Light up the dawn Tune into live commemorative services The ABC will be broadcasting a 5.30am service from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. There will also be a 10am service from the Anzac Memorial in Sydney that will be broadcast on ABC and streamed live. Reach out to a mate or veteran who might be alone Many people are alone during this time of isolation. Its an opportunity to invoke the ANZAC value of mateship and check to see how a mate is doing. And if you know a veteran please call or reach out to them, check in on them, thank them for their service and help them if needed during this time. Honour Our Traditions Make ANZAC cookies with your family and drop them on your neighbours doorsteps or to close family and friends. Draw a Poppy on the driveway or footpath with chalk and include the words LEST WE FORGET. A great way to do something different all while talking about why we all pause on this special day. Together even while apart well remember those who served and sacrificed. LEST WE FORGET.

Mattia Binotto, Managing Director Gestione Sportiva and Team Principal quote Im pleased to announce that Carlos will join Scuderia Ferrari as from the 2021 championship. With five seasons already behind him, Carlos has proved to be very talented and has shown that he has the technical abili...ty and the right attributes to make him an ideal fit with our family. Weve embarked on a new cycle with the aim of getting back to the top in Formula 1. It will be a long journey, not without its difficulties, especially given the current financial and regulatory situation, which is undergoing a sudden change and will require this challenge to be tackled in a different way to the recent past. We believe that a driver pairing with the talent and personality of Charles and Carlos, the youngest in the past fifty years of the Scuderia, will be the best possible combination to help us reach the goals we have set ourselves. quote Carlos Sainz #55 quote I am very happy that I will be driving for Scuderia Ferrari in 2021 and Im excited about my future with the team. I still have an important year ahead with McLaren Racing and Im really looking forward to going racing again with them this season. quote Born in Madrid on 1st September 1994, Carlos already has plenty of Formula 1 experience, having taken part in 102 World Championship Grands Prix, over five seasons. 16.01.2022 Mercedes have hit the ground running Week one of pre-season testing in 2019 was not the finest for the Silver Arrows, but theyve exploded out of the blocks this time around, setting tongues wagging with an innovative new steering wheel system, nicknamed DAS, and leading two leading drivers from rival teams to admit the W11 looks very, very quick. Lewis Hamilton had a ruthlessly efficient morning, clocking up a fraction over 100 laps before handing the car over to Valtteri Bottas. The Finn got down to business quickly, but had his running cut short inside the final hour with an electrical problem.

12.01.2022 Ayrton Sennas 1st Monaco Pole After arriving at his first Monaco GP as a virtual unknown and leaving the 1984 race as the most promising young talent in the category, Ayrton Senna knew that the race on the streets of Monte Carlo had everything to be special once again in the following year. His status as the breakthrough driver in the world of motor sports had been confirmed with other great races in 1984 that came to a head in another impressive performance in the rain, thi...s time in Portugal, at the Estoril track, where the Brazilian had scored his first win in F1 one month earlier. The race in Monaco would be the fourth in the 1985 season, and he had taken the pole position in two of the three previous contests a significant result for a driver who had just one full F1 season under his belt and a an early sign of why Senna would soon be considered the best in that aspect of racing, too. The Brazilian had Just one problem: his Lotus was burning too much fuel way above average, which prevented him from winning more at that point of his career (F1 cars spend less fuel in the rain, making it less of a problem). His third pole position in a row in 1985 came in Monte Carlo, when he beat Williams Nigel Mansell for just 86 thousandths of a second. Ever since the early days of racing, starting ahead at Monaco was the best indicator of a win on Sunday, since it was almost impossible to overtake at the narrow street-circuit. On Sunday, May 19, Senna had a good start and was able to put some distance between him and Michele Alboreto, in second place with his Ferrari. But, on the 13th lap, a problem on his Reanault EF15 ended up taking the Lots driver out of the race. In two years, with a second-place finish that was meant to be a victory and a pole position, the future King of Monaco was already showing signs that his reign was about to begin.

The seven teams combined efforts, termed Project Pitlane, are part of a UK industry-wide effort to... manufacture and deliver respiratory devices to support the national need. Following decisions taken this week by the UK Government, Project Pitlane is focussed on three workstreams. These workstreams vary in scope from reverse engineering existing medical devices, to support in scaling the production of existing ventilator designs as part of the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium, to the rapid design and prototype manufacture of a new device for certification and subsequent production. In each instance, Project Pitlane will pool the resources and capabilities of its member teams to greatest effect, focusing on the core skills of the F1 industry: rapid design, prototype manufacture, test and skilled assembly. F1s unique ability to rapidly respond to engineering and technological challenges allows the group to add value to the wider engineering industrys response. The focus of Project Pitlane will now be on coordinating and answering the clear challenges that have been set. 08.01.2022 By Adam Cooper Autosport Pirelli has been forced to scrap 1800 of its Formula 1 tyres after the Australian Grand Prixs cancellation, but they will now be used as fuel for a cement factory. With the current generation of tyres and wheel rims, Pirelli always has to write-off tyres that have been mounted but not been used, because of possible damage when they are taken off the rims.... At flyaway races there is no choice but to dismount them, as transporting rims by air is the responsibility of the teams. In Europe, unused mounted tyres can be transported by road still on their rims, and then used at the next race. Pirelli is used to scrapping unused tyres at the end of a flyaway weekend - often having to throw away 560 wets if there are no weather issues - but the Australian situation is unprecedented in terms of wastage. Complete sets of 1800 unmounted tyres have already arrived via sea in both Bahrain and Vietnam. After the postponement of those two races in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, they will be kept on site in case the races are rescheduled and, if the events dont take place.

05.01.2022 Good Monaco Race To Watch In Self-Isoloation

05.01.2022 Ayrton Senna and Monaco The Monaco GP is the most anticipated race in the calendar of the worlds main motor sports category. To win on the streets of Monte Carlo is synonymous with eternal glory it has been that way ever since the race was created, in the 1920s, decades before F1 became an official category (which would only happen in 1950). Its not by chance that is part of the so-called triple crown of motor racing, along with the 24 Hours of Lemans and the Indy 500. If... drivers and teams had to choose Just one GP to win in a given year, most of them would surely pick Monaco. Can you imagine being the biggest winner in the races history? Well, thats a title that still belongs to Ayrton Senna. In 1993, the Brazilian had his sixth triumph there (five of them in a row), breaking a seemingly untouchable record: the five victories achieved by Graham Hill, known as Mister Monaco and the only driver in the world to have ever won the Triple Crown. Sennas first win came in 1987, but his debut on the streets of Monte Carlo was already the stuff of F1 legend. It was one of the greatest displays of talent by a young driver in history. So, take a look at the special coverage that the Ayrton Senna website has prepared for you, to show how, year by year, the Brazilian built to this amazing record, which lead the international press to give him the title of King of Monaco.

01.01.2022 5 Ways To Pay Your Respects This Anzac Day At Home During Covid-19 Restrictions As we approach Anzac Day this Saturday April 25th, you may be wondering how you and your family can still commemorate this important day. While the current COVID-19 restrictions mean that we are unable to gather for dawn service, there are still plenty of ways you can reflect on the sacrifices made by those brave men and women who served to protect our country. ABC programming will commence at 5am... on Anzac Day, with ceremony broadcast live from the Australian War Memorial from 5.30am on April 25th. In saying this we have put together 5 different ways to honour the Anzacs within the comfort of your own home and still abiding by the COVID-19 restrictions. 1. Hold a dawn service from your driveway At 5:55am on Saturday 25th April, light a candle and stand at the end of your driveway or balcony. At 6:00am commence a minutes silence to reflect on the sacrifice of the brave service men and women, both past and present. 2. Decorate your letterbox, windows or bins Arts and crafts with the kids to create a floral wreath or red crepe paper poppies that are traditionally laid down on Anzac day at memorials or worn on clothing. Creative ideas on how to create these can be found online using simple house hold items. 3. Hold your own gunfire breakfast at home Following the dawn service, it is customary to follow with a traditional gunfire breakfast. Today, the gunfire breakfast has evolved to entail a traditional breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages and baked beans. Why not host your own gunfire breakfast at home? 4. Listen to Anzac-inspired songs I Was Only 19 by Redgum Spirit of the Anzacs by Lee Kernaghan To my Fellow Man by Lugh Damen The Anzac by Adam Brand I am Australian by The Seekers On Every Anzac Day by John Schumann 5.
