Too many times have I seen a blonde hair inspo photo looking a certain way, knowing that the lighting or editing MAKES the hair look like that; not even that persons hair looks like that in real life!... A toner is a colour we apply after lightening your hair with powder lightener (aka bleach) which either neutralises, counteracts or enhances the colour of the lightened hair. If we don’t use a toner after lightening, the colour can look raw, almost like yellow straw It also helps to close down the cuticle, which makes the hair softer, adds shine... and manageability. . All hair lifts WARM, also known as yellow. If your goal is a warm toned blonde, you’ll need a toner to balance that existing yellowness . If your goal is ashy, icy or platinum, you’ll most likely need a pre toner (usually @keunehaircosmetics Silver Savior or Ultimate Blonde Spray) then your target toner applied to help counteract and deposit cool pigments into the hair. . My guest had some previously lightened foils that were shining through, so I decided to add a few more balayage pieces in and gloss with a similar tone to her base so she has a seamless grow out. If you put that energy out there, it will come back around to you. . So why am I telling you this? Well, 2020 definitely wasn’t the year anyone had planned. That means that 2021 has the opportunity to be one of the most amazing yet - all you have to do is put the steps and energy in place to make it happen for you...rself. Our vibrations and expectations of this year are so low, we have the perfect base to really make 2021 our b*%ch! . So how do you apply steps and energy to make happen what you want? - journaling. Write it down! What are your goals? What do you have to do to get to those goals? Make these points easy and simple to follow - the aim is to break it down, not overwhelm. - positive thinking. Try and see the flip side of it. Something didn’t work out? That’s not for you then, there’s something else waiting. - back to basics. Less screens. More in the moment. Being grateful and mindful of what you have and what you don’t have. - visualisation. Girl, you gotta act like you already have it! Work towards that vision. . 2021 for me brings huge changes, both in salon and out. I’m honing in on my craft, and I’m looking to nurture it more with education and surrounding myself with likeminded people. Networking is the bomb! Also, my biggest boy starts preschool next year which is a huge step for both him and my family. This brings new challenges and a beautiful new community into our lives .
