23.01.2022 As per the Covid Update from Baseball Victoria, all baseball activities are to cease effectively immediately. No trainings, games, etc. We are happy we were able to have our juniors get some form of competition prior to moving back down into lockdown. We would like to thank our parents, players and volunteers for all their efforts in ensuring we met expectations with new restrictions in order to allow the kids to play. Latrobe Valley Baseball Association will still meet via Z...oom tomorrow night to ratify decisions in relation to the season. https://baseballvictoria.com.au/baseball-victoria-covid-19/

To kick things off, meet Deklan, a pitcher and centre fielder, coach, volunteer and all-round legend at Morwell Cougars Baseball Club, who manages complex regional pain syndrome to play the sport he loves. 15.01.2022 Happening Now.....

15.01.2022 Its a sad day for Baseball in Melbourne Announcement today from Melbourne Winter baseball League The Melbourne Winter Baseball League has been tirelessly wor...king to get the 2020 season underway during this pandemic. It is with deep regret that we today announce that despite all our desires and work to provide a 2020 season, we must announce a cancellation of the 2020 season, for both Seniors and Juniors. We have been working with Baseball Victoria, and your clubs to get the season underway. It is at this time; we have come to the ultimate decision that we cannot get this to happen. The MWBL Board has considered the options, and the current situation. Escalating cases and continued community transmission through the past period has created an environment that we, the MWBL Board, believe leaves no option for the season to continue. Our primary concern is the safety of our members. Both the clubs and potentially more importantly the players, spectators and volunteers. The rise in cases and community transmission is increasing the risk for everyone. We have already had postcode lock downs in place affecting some of our players, which will not be lifted for some time, and may be extended to new postcodes, or state-wide. Baseball Victoria has confirmed that clubs may continue training if they wish, but all restrictions must be adhered to as per the guidelines set in place by Baseball Victoria. There will not be any competition or games allowed under this continuance. The Geelong Baseball Association yesterday announced they will be cancelling their senior competition, and the Dandenong Baseball Association decided yesterday that they will be cancelling both Junior and Senior competitions. Whilst some country-based leagues may still go ahead with their season, they are in a completely different situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note, we the MWBL will not be endorsing any clearances, or new dual registrations from this point onwards. We would like to thank everyone very much for time and patience through this ordeal, and for your continued support. We understand this decision will not sit well for everyone, and no one is more disappointed than us in the decision weve had to make. See more
