10.01.2022 AES - Game Design Science For Kids Academy offers our Year 3-5 students an introduction to STEM fundamentals through hands-on and outcome-based Game Design activities. This course provides students with the fundamentals of game coding, and students learn to create their own game elements such as characters, backgrounds and other essential graphical items. 09.01.2022 Earth Hour Two Earth Hour conferences were organised this week and last by the parents' Eco-committee. Erica from Saving Our Species spoke to our primary school students about local endangered species and Michael Gabadou, former managing director of Interface, a company very much committed to low-emissions production, was able to show an example of a sustainable production strategy to Year 10-11 students. Earth Hour, last Saturday, is organised by the @wwf and is the worl...d’s largest citizen mobilisation for the planet. On this occasion, millions of people turn off their lights and from Singapore to Honolulu, via Sydney, Moscow, London, Paris, or New York, thousands of iconic monuments are plunged into darkness. 06.01.2022 #IB2020 The class of IB 2020 received their results last night and we are very proud of their achievements. The average grade was 31.5 (1.5 points above world average).... 100% of students obtained their diplomas (world average is 80%) 6 out of 12 students obtained bilingual diplomas. Students have obtained the scores they needed to accept places at Cornell University in the USA, Economics at Maastricht and Computer Science in Toronto. 01.01.2022 #FLASHMOB ! Part of the Distance Learning In Physical Education (P.E.) consisted in proposing physical activities for the students to do at home and, therefore, our teachers created several diverse challenges: STEP, strength and conditioning, etc... This enabled them to, on the one hand, carry out physical activity and obtain all the physical and psychological benefits linked to exercise, and on the other, to validate skills in work organisation, project planning, the use of... certain digital tools and so on. Among all these, Mr Honthaas founded a challenge which emerged from the EPS Mania collective, and brought together more than 11,000 P.E. teachers in France and in the AEFE - Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger network. Mr Honthaas' challenge was a "flash mob", and consisted in a dance choreographed by several participants who did not know each other. This flash mob has since been brought to life by more than 70 P.E. teachers, and has been taught to more than 50,000 students in over 180 schools in France and abroad, through the following video tutorial: https://youtu.be/1O5jlUqsTds Below is the LCS students' version of the flash mob, involving 20 primary school classes accompanied by three high school classes.
