Not a cover girl yet, but you can find my story in this edition which is packed full of motivational stories and great advice from The Lifestyle Suite talent. You can even see where you can apply to the 2021 Academy which is conveniently right next to my story!!

15.01.2022 So excited, I had my first Krav Maga class today with my new trainer Andy from @sgskravmaga !!! Forgive the red face and lack of make up, we had just finished. There is a few reasons I’ve wanted to learn Krav Maga. ... 1 - I’m a female and in a wheelchair and I never want to be in a position to feel vulnerable or unsafe in general, no matter what situation. As unlikely as that is, you just don’t know. 2 - I wanted to find another way to increase my exercise, increase fitness, raise my heart rate and sweat while learning something new, important and fun. 3 - And quite frankly they will eventually let me use some weapons, how could I resist!! For those of you who don’t know what Krav Maga is, this is a 3 part system. 1 - Hand to hand combat 2 - Self defense and tactics 3 - Third party protection And was originally designed for the Israeli Defence Forces. 13.01.2022 You’ve seen my post on my latest competition in Canberra and how well it went, now that I am home I wanted to shed some light on what it takes to get there with two independent girls in wheelchairs. Most people take for granted getting in and out of a car, and that is totally understandable, you only know what you know. I showed you once before me getting in and out of the car, but it puts a whole new spin on the situation when there are two of us. So I kept the video in r...eal-time so you could really appreciate how we do it, if I speed it up I feel it would lose something. Julie and I did this 12 times from the time we left Sydney to getting back. So this video ultimately took 3 minutes but by this time we filmed this we had it down to a fine art! I did not film us then having to carry our luggage or equipment but that’s a whole new video. So this is Julie and I getting into the car and we do this in reverse to get out. We also had to stop for petrol so that was another extra step. So firstly Julie has to get my chair in as she has more leg movement so she was the better option, but I have done this for other friends when I have to get everyone in the car. She then has to get her own chair in and then get to the front seat as it was a 3-hour trip and well we didn’t want her in the back seat the whole trip. So there it is and this is how we roll when we go on a road trip!!

08.01.2022 Start 2021 with some great advice and ideas. Check out the latest issue of The Suite Life!! I’m on page 30 talking about overcoming obstacles and setting goals!!!

06.01.2022 Happy International Day of People With a Disability! As a person with a disability I can see how the world is changing in a positive way in regards to how we are seen, treated and included. But we still have a long way to go. ... There is still a devide that needs to close to bring equality and inclusion to people like me. And the only way we can do this is to talk about it and take action. Things you can do to make change. 1 - Talk to us like you would anyone else, we are just like you we just do things differently. 2 - Ask us, don't decide we can't do something based on your perception of our disability. We are pretty adaptable and creative when it comes to getting things done. I'm pretty much a female McGyver at times!! 3 - Hire us!! If we apply for your job we know we can do it. Refer to point 2 if you need clarification. 4 - Be open minded, date us, marry us and share your life with us. You'll find we have hopes and dreams like anyone else. It's pretty simple really.
