20.01.2022 The fascinating light within a tin can

19.01.2022 Just love this painting by Kerry James Marshall

18.01.2022 A Glimpse 1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CDsivCpjrmo/?igshid=e89s4xnd39bq

17.01.2022 its a world wide phenomena.

17.01.2022 Oh spring. Lovely to bask in your light.

17.01.2022 So excited to be part of this project . My monologue is in. Cant wait to see how it is performed!

17.01.2022 I call this one VISITATION. You know those times when you catch yourself in the mirror and are shocked. Who is that?! I wonder. Perhaps its an important moment of change if I recognise it. Or do I just see what is usually there? I think we are all in this moment, on this tiny planet. This painting is reworked and embellished from an oldie (but a goodie). Tap to see the whole paintings. www.lynnlobo.com

15.01.2022 Trees have their own atmosphere. The space between their branches is part of them, like we have personal space. I tried to paint that and asked myself ‘is it possible to do that?’ I’m still wondering . . .

15.01.2022 A view beyond 2. www.lynnlobo.com

15.01.2022 Thought Id call this one LEVITATION. Spooky things are happening in the background and in our dreams. Can we welcome change and difference in, in some way? Or do we run and hide? Goya too faced troubling times and I love his witches series. His paintings touch me in this moment. www.lynnlobo.com

15.01.2022 A favourite section

14.01.2022 Im looking forward to seeing the newly acquired works by Clarice Becket at the Art Gallery of SA. One of my all time favourite painters. heres a taster.

14.01.2022 I’ve been weaving this painting together for a while now -still not satisfied. It’s just not the right time for completion for this one. Every painting has its own path.

14.01.2022 Happy as a pig in mud or fish in water or whatever saying comes to mind. You get the feeling picture! #pleinair #australianbush #freespirit #carefree #naturebathing

13.01.2022 My last 5 posts were snippets of this painting. Of areas that I loved painting. That can lead to other paintings. This painting is from a couple of small Plein Air studies, memories and feelings. I love how a dialogue within paint can lead to baby paintings. How they can grow into a something bigger and continue. www.lynnlobo.com

13.01.2022 This one is a culmination of many shifting light moments, carefully edited. Loving layers of paint

13.01.2022 A glimpse. 3 - oil on canvas www.lynnlobo.com

13.01.2022 I’m enjoying little sections of paint work. Almost done.

13.01.2022 A camping trip to Mambray Creek last week- just me and paint and a lizard

10.01.2022 I'm looking forward to seeing the newly acquired works by Clarice Becket at the Art Gallery of SA. One of my all time favourite painters. here's a taster.

10.01.2022 Slowly working away at this one. A view beyond 1. www.lynnlobo.com

10.01.2022 My latest blog post is about fires, viruses and the wisdom of trees. I hope you enjoy it and remember to breathe. Feel free to share it with others and leave a comment. https://www.lynnlobo.com///breathing-through-these-times/

09.01.2022 Funny what thoughts come up as you paint. While finishing off this little study I was thinking about an ice skater pirouetting on ice. Anyway, the reflection was a challenge and learning about the world (and myself) is the pleasure of painting. www.lynnlobo.com

09.01.2022 Great article and a retake on Gentileschi.

09.01.2022 My dear friend and colleague Venetia Bouronikou and I have been working away at a graphic novel. Its a novel, a facilitation guide to working with conflict in groups and it covers some important issues that we face in together on this planet. This little video reading is an excerpt on the process of sorting for a topic. Come over to our page DREAMING INTO COMMUNITY and give us a like. We will be launching out graphic novel soo. Meanwhile enjoy our reading.

08.01.2022 Decameron 2.0 - my monologue is finally up and performed by the wonderful Shabana Azeez and directed by Alexis West. What an honour to have my work interpreted by these two wonderful women. Thankyou Anthony Nicola and Yasmin Gurreeboo for this opportunity with the SA State Theatre Company and Theatre of the Global Majority. Hope you enjoy these amazing collaborations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJTkMiiUNps&feature=youtu.be

08.01.2022 Snippet 3 - on the easel. Oil on linen. www.lynnlobo.com

08.01.2022 Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose 1885-1886 Tate Gallery, London, England Oil on canvas 174 x 153.8 cm (68 1/2 x 60 1/2 in.... #johnsingersargent The children lighting lanterns are Dolly (left) and Polly (right) Barnard. Their father, illustrator Frederick Barnard, was friends with Sargent. It was painted in a garden in Broadway, a village in south west England where Sargent stayed in the summer of 1885. Sargent wanted to paint from real life. There were only a few minutes each evening where the light was right. He would place his easel and paints, pose the models beforehand, and wait for the right moment to start. As summer ended and the flowers died, he replaced them with pot plants.

07.01.2022 The Arts & Entertainment industry desperately needs an economic stimulus package.

06.01.2022 Snippet- on the easel.

06.01.2022 Wow! Thats probably worth the whole Infrastructure portfolio that Morrison hid the arts away in.

05.01.2022 Hints of autumn are in the light rain this morning. This tree is shedding a season and bursting into luminosity, highlighted by a thin film of moisture. How could I resist this portrait. www.lynnlobo.com

04.01.2022 When I think back on making a plein air study for this painting, my most vivid memory is the sound of the guard dog barking for 2 solid hours in the background. Thank goodness for fences, senses and studios to transformation memory. A View Beyond www.lynnlobo.com

04.01.2022 I was planning a little bush adventure but plans change. So Im finding solace in my local special places. Its the love I feel for something that makes me want to look at it through paint. Feeling love in nature is the best thing for my health. Whats the best thing for your health? www.lynnlobo.com From first pass underpainting to finish.

04.01.2022 Hot off the paintbrush and satisfied. I love how an incidental glimpse can be so beautiful.

03.01.2022 THE PUDDLE A weekend of making adjustments and this painting feels done. After a week of rain, to encounter this puddle on my walk set me dreaming about the exotic. Exoticism of what is other and all the stereotypes that come with it creates more distance. I love the everyday. That I can fall in love with a big puddle on my path. That an old tractor with a flat tyre can be so beautiful. That I can be captivated by colourbond sheds. Oh and dont get me started on the SKY! www.lynnlobo.com

02.01.2022 So looking forward to our online book launch. My co-author Venetia and I would love for you to celebrate with us.

02.01.2022 Paint passage in progress.
