24.01.2022 When someone says that traditionnal martial arts are not efficient ;)

21.01.2022 I just came back from Okinawa and have great news for all our members. Higaonna Sensei received an invitation letter from the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Ab...e, to attend the 30th-anniversary ceremony for the Japanese Emperor Akihito, on February 24, 2019. You may remember that Higaonna Sensei and three other masters demonstrated kata for the Japanese Emperor and Empress last March when they visited Okinawa. It was the Okinawan government who asked Higaonna Sensei and the three other masters to do the demonstration last time. However this time, it is the Japanese government who has invited Higaonna Sensei for this special ceremony. It is needless to say that this is such a great honor and recognition to be invited to such an event. There are only two persons from Okinawa invited to this special ceremony. One represents Okinawan traditional dance/music and Higaonna Sensei who represents Karate. We all knew that Higaonna Sensei is the best master. But it made me so happy that now he is recognized by the Japanese government for his many years of contributing towards the development of Okinawan traditional karate and Okinawan culture. Please spread this great news to all your members and their families. We are proud to be students of Higaonna Sensei and members of IOGKF!! "Traditional Karate at its best!!"
