24.01.2022 Whoohoooo we did it Melbs! Here’s our summary of ‘Last Step Restriction’ changes starting today. Masks remain mandatory indoors, unless an exemption applies. Masks are NOT required outdoors except where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Requirement is to carry masks at all times.... The number of visitors to your home will increase from two to 15 per day, that can be split across different times . Outdoor gatherings in a public place the park, the beach etc will increase to 50. Weddings, Funerals and religious ceremonies indoors will increase to 150 people Gyms are open for up to 150 patrons and 20 for classes. Indoor pools, including lessons, cap of 150 patrons. Outdoor pools, cap of 300 patrons, no group size limit. Saunas, steam rooms and spas open. Cafes, restaurants and pubs are serving, depending on venue size, up to 50 customers. For bigger venues, the cap will increase to 150. Total venue capacity will also rise to 300. Cinemas, galleries and museums will also be able to host up to 150 people indoors. Community areas/clubs, contact and non-contact sports can begin for adults 150 people indoors with a group size of up to 20 and 500 outdoors with groups of up to 50 Amusement Parks: Cap of up to 25 per cent of the venue capacity. The reasons to leave your home MUST BE WITHIN 5km. ... 1 Shopping for food or other essential items (one person per household, once a day) 2 To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment; (can go beyond 5kms) 3 For exercise (outdoor exercise only FOR ONE hour a day with only one other person); 4 Work or study must be from home. Only permitted work industries can leave home (to be announced and no limit on distance). Intimate partner visits allowed outside of 5kms. EDUCATION Year 11 & 12 students across Victoria will return to remote and flexible learning on WEDNESDAY. All classes to remote learning on Wednesday. As normal per on Monday, but a pupil free day on Tuesday. Exemptions for vulnerable kids, kids of permitted workers, specialist schools in Metro Melbourne for vulnerable students and children of permitted workers. EXERCISE Maximum of one hour a day within 5km of home, with one other person. RESTAURANTS & CAFES Takeaways and home deliveries are still allowed, subject to conditions. PUBLIC GATHERINGS Weddings banned from Thursday Only 10 mourners can leave Melbourne for regional funerals. Organised sport, leisure and recreation activities are banned. INDUSTRIES Essential businesses will carry on, but more announcements later today. Business announcements will be made today and many will close if they can’t work from home.
