15.01.2022 Hi Everyone! We have a special message about spreading some joy during this Christmas season at MQ. Got some spare time on your hands? Want to make someone else’s Christmas a little brighter?... Then we’ve got something for you! Foodbank is a non-profit organisation committed to fighting hunger in Australia you may have seen them on campus this session as they supported our international students. Each year, Foodbank sends out thousands of food hampers to vulnerable individuals and families at Christmas. A team of MQ students have committed to writing as many Christmas cards as we can, which will be attached to these hampers to let the recipients know that the community is thinking of them after what has been an incredibly difficult year. Once the cards are written, we will be posting them to Foodbank’s warehouse where a crew headed by author and entrepreneur Lisa Messenger will be packing 1,500 food hampers. HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED: 1. Come to our drop-in card writing sesh’ anytime between 10am and 4pm on THURSDAY, 26th NOVEMBER at MUSE Level 2 to write some cards with us! (Cards provided for you ) 2. Can’t make it to the drop-in session, but have a couple of dollars to spare? You can also purchase a couple of your own cards. Write a festive message such as: Merry Christmas! We hope this brightens your day, and puts a smile on your face. We’re thinking of you. Much love, Sally xx.
