25.01.2022 Some vacation care highlights!

25.01.2022 Just thought we'd share a couple of recipes the kids really enjoyed for afternoon tea lately! Mini Meat Loaves: Minced beef An egg ... Any veggies you like and grate them or whiz them up in the food processor. Mix it all together really well. (we added a bit of kecap manis and sweet chilli sauce as well) Grease a muffin tin and fill the holes with the mix. Put in the oven - about 180C - until cooked (around 30 mins in our oven) Any minced meat can be used, we used beef and served with salad. Cheese and Veggie Pastry Triangles: Shortcrust pastry Cheese Frozen mixed veggies - corn, peas and carrot A sprinkling of veg stock powder Mix cheese, veggies and stock powder together Place a sheet of pastry in a breville style toasted sandwich maker. Put a layer of cheese and veggies on top, place another sheet of pastry on top of the veggie and cheese mix, close the lid and cook until brown!

24.01.2022 WANTED: Hi we are looking for some wood off cuts for our kids to use. We use them for loose part play and for creating. If you have any sitting around please get in touch. We would be happy to collect or if you could drop off at the school that would be amazing. Thank you!

23.01.2022 Breakfast with the birds! Quietly hoping some birds will come to the feeder and bird bath

22.01.2022 Time for school holidays once again. We have a great program for this term. Your child does not need to attend Machans Beach SS to attend. Check out our activities and please let us know if you want any more info!

21.01.2022 Untreated wood off cuts needed please! If you have any sort of wood offcuts lying around, we would love them!

19.01.2022 We have had a busy week as OSHC. Pokemon continues to be a strong theme and the kids have really been getting into their trading and make believe games. We are learning some local Yidiny Language by making some cards with pictures. They are up on the wall near the back door, feel free to take a look and learn something new!... Karen has been teaching the children to sew. They really enjoyed making flowers with material and buttons. Ash organised a sensory foot experience, the kids were blindfolded and stepped through different sensory boxes. It was great fun the kids really enjoyed it. Climbing trees have been a massive hit this week, many of the kids have been challenging themselves and going further than before. Its been great to see them helping each other reach new heights.

18.01.2022 A cheeky tongue twister: One smart fellow, he felt smart Two smart fellows, they felt smart Three smart fellows, they all felt smart together ... These holidays, we are staying at OSHC due to number restrictions at venues. The in house program is based on children's suggestions, popular activities throughout the term and what we observe the children enjoying

15.01.2022 We are extremely excited to announce that we're officially recognised as Nature Play Activity Providers by Nature Play Qld! We have gained this recognition for our work in promoting outdoor play-based activities and for our ongoing work connecting children with nature.

15.01.2022 Doing what we love - playing, being outside, imagining, creating, leaping, balancing, searching for things - being kids!

14.01.2022 We are excited to start a new community project, we are now a collection point for Envision hands, we will be collecting bottle tops that will be made into prosthetic limbs for children. So please start saving them from landfill and bring them to us when its convenient. Thanks families! We also help collect bread tags to be made into wheel chairs, so feel free to bring those in as well!

13.01.2022 VACATION CARE: Due to COVID-19, we have cancelled all of our excursions and we're in the process of re-doing our program as an 'in house' program. We'll post once it's done!

10.01.2022 Hi Families.. we are collecting these seed packs, if you shop at Woolworths and don't plan to use these we would be more than happy to use them. The kids are excited to plant!

09.01.2022 A BIG thanks to families who are letting us know when a child will be away from after school care. This often allows another child to take that spot as an 'emergency' booking.

06.01.2022 Happy Halloween! The kids at after school care today had great fun getting ready for trick or treating and enjoying some Halloween fun. They put their hands into 'surprise bowls' and felt 'worms", "eye balls", "dried ears" and 'skin". They took great care getting themselves dressed and made up for Halloween, choosing whether to be scary, or pretty or cute. We also enjoyed some scary pizzas.... Have a great night and a Happy Halloween

06.01.2022 Now, we're not going to get all political here, but, Oh My Goodness! What we could do with this funding!

05.01.2022 Along with bottle tops, bread tags we are now collecting used pens.. please feel free to drop these at the school. there will be a collection box available outside the office in the next few days.

04.01.2022 Absolutely love the Reconciliation Garden we built today When the weather dries up a bit, we'll paint the paver border and add signage for traditional plant use. So far we have a flame tree, which when it flowers, signifies that mud crabs and shellfish are ready to harvest; Eastern Gondola Bushes aka, iodine bush, the white latex from broken stems can cure sores and ulcers; native violets with edible flowers; mat- rush grass which is used for basket and eel trap weaving; river cherry and native current, both have edible fruits. A huge thank you to Ryan at CRC Nursery for the plants (again!) and to Jay from Organic Motion who gave us a hand today. And of coarse to the kids who did a great job! We finished off the day with hand stand competitions

04.01.2022 Its vacation care time again! We're excited about another action packed holiday, if you want your child to be a part of it, get your bookings in so they don't miss out

03.01.2022 Hi Families we are off and collecting lids, we can only accept clean lids that have a 2 or 4 on the back. We also will happily take any bread tags as well. https://www.facebook.com/EnvisionESI/

03.01.2022 Well, its been a quiet few weeks, but now with school back for everyone, we are back on game! The wildlings are pumped, full of great energy and excitement!

03.01.2022 Toward the end of each year we donate to a charity. This year we've chosen McHappy Day! A few months ago, I experienced what Ronald MacDonald House actually does and what it means for families who find themselves in hospital with a sick or injured child! It blew me away! Everything is done for you, it's all just there, you just focus on your child! And, it's free! So, to help Ronny Mac's keep up the amazing work, please donate! (PS, said child had a bmx accident and is now fine) https://www.rmhc.org.au/mchappyday

03.01.2022 Getting ready for the next vacation care! We're excited about the Agile Project coming to talk to us about how to care for injured wild life. We're also going to give them the joey pouches we've been sewing with Karen.

02.01.2022 A little early morning fishing in the tinny!

01.01.2022 On Mondays student free day, we went to Paradise Palms for a fun day of swimming, mini golf, playing in the playground and a bbq lunch!
