21.01.2022 Did you know? Mackay Direct Cremations is the only company that we know of that can guarantee 99% of you loved ones ashes returned to you. Ask us why??

17.01.2022 ENOUGH FALSE FACEBOOK RANTS!!!!! If anyone wants proof then log onto www.whitsundayfunerals.com.au and complete the download form, you can then read all 133 pa...ges which includes a copy of one of the 1 cent tender and the photo's, bearing in mind, there are details that may seriously distress families, there are funeral home names exposed, there is a crematorium exposed, there are letters showing the Department of Justice are lying to the community and corrupt. If the industry keeps trying to slander our good name the remaining documents in our solicitors hands will be released. This is not a threat its a promise. People keep asking what do I want from all this, what’s in it for me. Answer: A government that's not corrupt & the funeral Industry cleaned up and regulated by an audited public system, so as to ensure everyone in Australia is treat fairly and with dignity & respect. IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK ??????? See more

13.01.2022 Hi everyone Mackay Direct Cremations was started due to high prices of cremations amongst the corporate companies in Mackay. Mackay Direct Cremations is part of Whitsunday Funerals & Crematorium and owns this business name. On the 1st of December 2016 we opened our new office location at 209 Shakespeare Street Mackay, where we can now still offer the same great low prices and for those families with prearranged funerals with us. We still offer in house appointments along with our three great locations, Proserpine, Bowen & Mackay. "Where Families Come First"

All present funeral homes in Mackay are corporate owned. As we are a locally owned and operated family funeral business, we pass on our savings on to you, and being a large family funeral home you can be assured that your family comes first.

10.01.2022 Morning everyone, please have a look at the Saturday Townsville bulletin, the story on autopsies around Queensland and the 1 cent contracts. The coroners depart...ment stated it's a issue for Queensland health to resolve, I rang Queensland health, they stated it's Queensland pathology responsibility, I rand them, they stated it the State Coroners problem because they are sending the bodies for autopsies knowing that there are not enough facilities or pathologists, again State government and department of Justice failure to look after the community!!!!!! Please see comment section for a link to the article. http://www.townsvillebulletin.com.au//9defe307bf2bff018cd9

05.01.2022 It's a great feeling to know you helped a family in need.

05.01.2022 Hello all please find attached a letter to the Department of Justice sent today. WARNING THERE ARE DISTURBING DESCRIPTIONS IN THIS LETTER Please share with all ...your friends as much as possible. These horrible things must stop. To: Ann-Marie Ware, Department of Justice Manager of procurement Dear Ann-Marie, thanks for your email asking if Whitsunday Funerals is going to sign the awarded contracts for the Whitsundays and Mackay area. I am amazed to see that you are going to proceed with the awarding of the non conforming Coroner contract throughout Queensland. Today I spent some considerable time with Department of Fair Trading. I supplied them with copies of the fraudulent 1 cent contracts in the Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, just to mention a few. Your department awarded. Statement from Fair Trading today was, I quote "it doesn't take a smart person to realise these awarded contract stink, and it's obvious that someone is gaining from these". Fair trading stated that numerous rules and acts has been breached, so are you above the law??? My questions is ? You are the manager of procurement, allowing these tenders to be excepted, what's in it for you or your staff ?? Why is it that the ministers for Justice refuses to meet with us, or comment at all. Does she think by putting her head in the sand this will go away, I think not. The Coroners morgue at Rockhampton hospital is worse than an abattoirs at least they wash the animals. From the pictures supplied to the departments, you can clearly see that, families loved ones who have had autopsies in Rockhampton have been autopsied in the body bags, clothes cut and left under them covered in dirt, blood, glass and other horrible things, partly stitched up and returned to the originating mortuary. I have sent letters, made phone calls and still this goes on. What is it going to take for these horrendous practices to be stopped. Whitsunday Funerals & Crematorium have supplied our services to the department of Justice for 10 years. All our tenders are of a commercial value, and we pay our staff properly, maintain all equipment for the Island transfers and provide the department with four fully purpose built refrigerated vehicles. We have supplied you with our mortuary and cold rooms facilities in Bowen at no cost to you or the families for years, as Bowen hospital has no morgue. Proserpine hospital has limited facilities so we also provide them the use of our facilities, at no cost. We have offered numerous times for the Coroner, Premier, Ministers and Department of Justice to come to the table and resolve the issues we have in the funeral Industry. The wet season is approaching, please explain, what you will do if a cyclone, flood or highway closure stops Newhaven from getting from Mackay to Proserpine, Cannonvale, Dingo Beach, Bowen, Collinsville and various other places throughout the Whitsundays, in the event a person passes away and becomes a coroner case. Does the Queensland Police have to wait at a scene for up to three hours for a Contractor to arrive ? Does our community not matter to you at all, or is this too hard for you to admit you are wrong in so many ways. Whitsunday Funerals will provide our services to the Coroner again if these horrendous issues are resolved. Sincerely Jeff Boyle

04.01.2022 Hi everyone Mackay Direct Cremations was started due to high prices of cremations in Mackay. Whitsunday Funerals owns this business name. We now have our new large funeral home at 209 Shakespeare Street Mackay, where we can now still offer the same great prices and for those families with prearranged funerals with us, we now have three great locations, Proserpine, Bowen & Mackay. 02.01.2022 A Whitsundays funeral director says over the last decade he's complained multiple times to the Department of Justice over what he says is the disgusting and dis...respectful handing of bodies that have undergone an autopsy and practices by other funeral homes. Whitsunday Funerals director Jeff Boyle is calling for an inquiry into how the industry and the state Coroners Department is regulated. He says he's sent a 133-page letter to the Premier and Attorney-General with evidence he says backs up his claims. Mr Boyle says every level of the industry is poorly regulated. "The associations are owned by the funeral directors that are breaking the rules so what hope do we have?" he said. "We're self-regulated. It's just a joke, no one checks the mortuaries, no one checks the funeral homes, no one checks the crematoriums. "No one checks anything. No one even checks the vehicles they use to transport the bodies that aren't refrigerated." In a statement, the Department of Justice says any substantiated breaches of contract or inappropriate practices are acted on immediately.

01.01.2022 Hello everyone, it saddens me to see that the media is NOT printing the details supplied to them, regarding the horrible practises that the government is hiding... and or either refusing to answer. They are giving false & misleading statements. The Department of Justice put out a statement that there is no plans to make changes to the morgue in Townsville. What they did not say is, they no longer have a pathologist in Townsville, they fly one in from Cairns when they can, to perform Autopsies. So the families that are going through such a tuff time just have to wait. They also won't comment on Mackay's multi million dollar coroners mortuary that's never been used, also the multi million dollar forensic mortuary on the Sunshine Coast that they have shut. The government can spend jmillions on their new flash buildings, but not look after the people who gave them their jobs. Whitsunday Times & Bowen Independant have dropped the ball totally, no mention whatsoever in our papers what's really going on. When the government comes to the table and owns up to their corrupt issues and does something to rectify these issues Bowen will have NO mortuary for Coroner work and if your over 120 kgs you won't fit into the Proserpine hospital morgue either. Whitsunday Funerals has provided these facilities to the Coroners Department for years, at no cost to them and no cost to the families, and will again if the department stops deceiving the community. Tim Connolly from Newhaven Funerals likes to tell half truths, instead of saying his company was caught out transporting families loved ones from Mackay to Rockhampton & return, without refrigerated vehicles for years, THATS RIGHT YEARS he tried deflecting that issue by stating the contract did not specify refrigerated vehicle when transporting bodies. A person with common sense would know that a body out of refrigeration for up to 8 hours and transported in a bongo van is going to decompose. Yes they have a refrigerated van now, however that's because we blew the whistle on them, because families that were being transported by Newhaven were coming back decomposing. Newhaven supply services to the coroner, below commercial costs which don't even cover staff wages, contractors will cut corners, touting will be done to get the funeral, you guessed it you will pick up the bill. The Coroners new contracts have been awarded and come into force February 1st 2018. Whitsunday Funerals was awarded contracts in Mackay & Whitsunday's, at a price that we can afford to pay our staff and supply the correct equipment, however because the Coroner is treating families in our communities beyond belief, and awarding 1 cent contracts again, we have been left with no choice but refuse to sign the contracts we presently have. Whitsunday Funerals & Crematorium is our trading name, and at NO TIME have we ever not told a family or misled them about where their loved one will be cremated, also all Cremation Certificates clearly state cremated in Bowen. Families comes to us, because we are totally open, transparent, and offer services that no other company in Mackay & the Whitsundays can, all our branches have our family, caring for your family. Many families today are struggling to make ends meet, which is why we offer so many options, and in times that are tough for families, WE ARE AFFORDABLE!!!!
