20.01.2022 Festival of Sails 2020 notice of race. Due to the ever changing situation with Covid and the various restrictions, we were not sure if we could go ahead, until recently. Hopefully we will still get to see lots of keen sailors at the event.

17.01.2022 The annual Whitsunday Offshore Yacht Race Circuit (WOYRC) Series is planned to start at 8 am on Saturday 30th September. There will be a briefing for skippers and crew at 6 pm on Friday at the Mackay Surf Club. We are looking for a starter to start the race from the Mackay breakwater on Saturday morning. If are willing to assist can you please contact Col or anyone on the committee.... You are most welcome to come and cheer off the competitors from the breakwater on Saturday morning and to have a drink on the Friday evening. The race is due to finish at Bowen on Monday, with overnight stops at Hamo and Airlie.

07.01.2022 We are planning on sailing at Kinchant dam tomorrow.If anyone is interested in having a look or even coming along for a sail, keep an eye out for our flags and banner, we will be set up near the turn off to the boat ramp and parking area.

Monohulls and multihulls are invited to participate in the WOYRC by the joint organising authority comprising the Whitsunday Sailing Club, Mackay Yacht Club, Hamilton Island Cruising Yacht Club and North Queensland Cruising Yacht Club. During this popular 3-day event, competitors enjoy spectacular racing around the local region. The 2017 race schedule is as follows: Race day 1:Mackay to Hamilton Island 08:00 start Race day 2: Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach 09:00 start Race day 3: Airlie Beach to Bowen 08:00 start The Notice of Race will be published soon. 05.01.2022 Presentation Night 2018 Mackay Yacht Club Presentation Night 2018 3rd Feburary Sea Breeze Tavern 6pm start Commodores Drinks.

04.01.2022 The Annual Presentation Night is on Saturday 23 February at the Mackay Surf Club. 1- book a table or for one person ( and we will find you one). 2- bookings email to Club secretary [email protected] 3- no cost to come along, Commodores shout as usual.... A reminder to have nominations in by 31 January. Nominations time is running out. a- Club person of year, b- Yachtsperson of year, c- Crewperson of year. Lastly a few places are available on Sunday 3 February for the First Aid course at $20/person. It includes free VMR membership for a year. The radio licence course is changed to Sunday 10 March at cost of $40/person, also at VMR.

04.01.2022 The Annual Presentation Night - 6:30pm 22nd of February and the AGM - 2pm on 29 February. Both events are to be held at the Mackay Surf Club. If you wish to nominate persons for Clubperson of the year, Crewperson of the year and Yachtsperson (skipper) of the year, please send your nomination to the secretary by 31 January. If you do not nominate them, they will not be in the running for an award. Lastly, Ben Callard, the head of Yachting Queensland will be attending our AGM and will address the club
