18.01.2022 REMINDER: The event tomorrow (23rd July) has been cancelled. Apologies to those who were looking forward to a bit of extra track time before Matsuri in October. We are still in negotiations with Whitsunday Raceway about future events and are hoping we are able to come to a mutual agreement soon. We will post an announcement as soon as we have some more information to share. Have a great weekend!

18.01.2022 Palmyra is still running an 1/8 mile track, but we made it down to support their last TnT night. The more drivers and spectators we can get out there, the more money we can raise to repair the track. Unfortunately we snapped the output shaft of the trusty R31 Skyline, so in goes a RB25 box. Lets not have that happen again! Post up any photos or videos you have taken from the drags recently, and next time you hear it's on, take your mates down to watch, or race yourselves! It's all about getting out on the track and having fun.

11.01.2022 Thanks everyone for your patience over the last few weeks. We understand you've all been dying to know what's going on with the track...we have too. We regret to inform you all that unfortunately drifting at Whitsunday Raceway will no longer be going ahead :( We have put so much time and money into Whitsunday Drift and are absolutely shattered that this has happened. After Matsuri in May, we had an overwhelming response from everyone about how successful it was - the support ...we received was phenomenal. Of course, being our first event (we were rained out in March) there were definitely things that came up that needed attention in the future. However! Rome was not built in a day. Instead of calling us to organise a meeting so we could discuss the matters after the event, the WMSC sent us a letter - completely out of the blue (and a month later) - informing us that our future track days were cancelled until we can explain how we can fix the issues they had with us for the future. We responded to every issue they had, and offered reasonable solutions. After replying to them, the president emailed to inform us that they'd discuss our response in their next club meeting. We asked him if we could attend so we could answer any questions for them, however he did not respond. For days we tried calling him, and finally got onto him the day of their meeting (Tuesday just gone). He told us we were not able to attend their meeting and they would get back to us the following day. For the last three days he ignored our calls and failed to respond to us as promised. Only tonight, after calling off a private number, did we get an answer. Their committee has voted us out. We have still not received a formal response to our letter explaining why our solutions were not sufficient. We sincerely apologise to those who had postponed purchasing QR Matsuri tickets for October. We understand how difficult it is to get a spot after they sell out. Since we received that letter from WMSC we immediately started looking into alternate venues around Mackay and the Whitsundays. We have a few things up our sleeves and while it will take some time to get the ball rolling, be assured we are doing everything we can. Motorsport is our passion and we will not let this hurdle bring us down.

10.01.2022 Leon and Alyssa drove down to Rockhampton this weekend to attend the Driftkhana which was held by Central Queensland Motor Sporting Club Inc. (CQMSC) at the Gracemere Salesyard. Thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible. The Proximity R31 was faultless all weekend! Here's a video of Leon giving this non-turbo 3L a good thrashing...

08.01.2022 Not much happening in North QLD with drifting at the moment, so we took a drive down to Brisbane. Check out this short video of our NA R31 on track with some turbo cars and a hachi-roku. No one can keep up with that thing, it was so fast.

06.01.2022 UPDATE: We are sorry to inform everyone that the July 23rd track day has been cancelled. Unfortunately, this decision was out of our hands. After what we thought was an extremely successful Matsuri event in May, there were a few drivers and spectators who did not abide by our rules and regulations, resulting in Whitsunday Raceway temporarily suspending our future events until we come to a mutual agreement. It is a shame that it has come to this, but this is why we are strict... on rules. We will continue to update you all as we find out more. For those who have pre-paid for this event, please contact Proximity Motorsport on 49574674 to organise a refund. We will be contacting you individually as well.
