19.01.2022 Earlier today, most of the Mackay Historical Societies members got together for our annual Christmas Breakup/Lunch which was held at a new location this year, Harrup Park Country Club. During the last couple of years it has been held at Souths Suburban Bowls. A special guest at the lunch was Mackay Regional Council Museum's Coordinator, Alicia Stevenson. Some of the societies members family and partners also joined us. ... It was also a great opportunity to catch up with some members that we see occasionally during the year but not on a weekly basis. It also gives us an opportunity to sit down, socialise and have a lunch together. After lunch, those attending were quizzed of their knowledge of the year gone by with the annual special Christmas Quiz. This included a mix of questions in relation to what the society has been involved with or has written about this year aswell as other topics. This year saw some Christmas themed questions added for the first time. Question 13 (the last one) proved to be the biggest challenge of all questions, it seemed to answer. Naming in order the 12 Days of Christmas, gifts. A lot of the members helped each other out with working out the gifts in order. The annual breakup/lunch is held instead of what would be the monthly December meeting of the society.

It was distributed to every cane farmer in the district. It was a soft cover book. A man by the name of Pasquale D Thomasis appeared in the book, It is he who is requesting a copy of it. ...
