22.01.2022 President's Sept 2020 Update Hoping everyone is well and coping through the COVID-19 pandemic and hopefully some normality isn’t too far off so we can get back to socialising and enjoying the De Winton Park Pavilion upgrade which has progressed nicely over the last few months given the stage 4 restrictions. They are currently due to finish works on the pavilion by the end of September which is only a month later than planned which is a good result under the current circumstan...ces. The photos of the latest works are here: https://macleodfc.com.au//september-2020--de-winton-park-p The Carpark works are underway and will take 6 to 8 weeks depending on restrictions moving forward and this will include new cricket nets for Rosanna CC. The ground resurfacing will commence in October and is due to be finished and ready for playing football by May 2021, this will mean playing the first 3 games away if the season starts on time, this will also include new larger goal post, new black wire mesh fencing around the ground and NEW 100 LUX ground lights. It is quite exciting following the development of De Winton Park and will be something that we can all look forward to leading into season 2021. Please find attached the latest pictures from De Winton Park upgrade. Stay Safe Steve Doherty President Macleod FC

10.01.2022 The Macleod Football Netball Club are pleased to confirm the re-appointment of Senior Coach, Christian Stagliano for a further two years. The club is looking forward to building on the strong foundation built by Christian and the coaching team during the lead up to the cancelled 2020 Season. With strong player retention and a great pipeline of youth coming through the ranks, we look forward to returning to finals action in 2021. According to Club President Steve Doherty "The... re-appointment of Christian and our coaching panel is a great building block for the future of the club. We are excited for what lies ahead and a great boost to our prospects for season 2021, which will see us return to a renovated pavilion with upgraded facilities and a new playing surface at De Winton Park." In further great news, Reserves Coach, Dean Harrington and U19 Coach, Peter Gleisner have also signed on until 2022, providing stability and consistency across our coaching and development program. I’m really excited to have committed to Macleod for a further two seasons. To continue the work we began as a team 18 months ago is something I’m really looking forward too. We had a really promising summer where we had great energy and numbers on the track. We have a great mix of experienced senior players and exciting developing players that I am looking forward to continuing to work with. To have Harro & Pete on board for the next two years is fantastic result and something that I’m really pleased about. said Christian. See more

05.01.2022 While we don’t have the same connection to the Macleod FNC community this year - it doesn’t mean we can’t stay connected. It’s RUOK day - but why not extend the same message by checking in on each other tomorrow and beyond? Upgrade that next group chat to a direct text, or a phone call, or a (safely socially distant) walk or run.... You might not know someone is doing it tough until you ask - then you can give them the support they need. Pick up the phone tomorrow and keep finding ways to look after one another

01.01.2022 President's June 2020 Update We have some latest photos of the works at De Winton and things are taking shape which is very exciting The photos of the current works are here https://macleodfc.com.au//june-2020--de-winton-park-clubro ... These were taken Wednesday 24th June by Puff and they are of the following areas; - Change rooms extension and upgrade (female friendly) - New storage areas - New office - New medical room - New social toilet areas for both female and male All these works are tracking ahead of time and the indication from council is that we could see the completion of these works by August. The works which will start over the next month with a completion date around late August are: - Updated kitchen - A Veranda the full length of clubrooms and out to the second step (with added steps to each level for safety) - New fixed chairs out the front near fence(as in MCG type) - Sealed carparks on both sides of the clubrooms. Other works to commence in September will be the ground playing surface, drainage, levelling, new goal post and new oval fence, I will keep everyone updated through to completion. Very exciting times ahead and we hope with the easing of restrictions by September we will be able to hold some of our regular season functions in October/November which I have been negotiating with Mick Langford from Rosanna Cricket Club for us to have access and they have been very welcoming to us sharing the venue for 2 or 3 functions, more info to follow but we hope to at least hold our Business Lunch & 5K draw at some stage. Stay Safe Steve Doherty President MFNC
