12.01.2022 International award-winning has a nifty ring to it, don't you think? Macneil & Co. is stoked to be part of Sunshine Coast Council's International Economic Development Council (IEDC) award win this week. The award is for a promotional video and multimedia marketing campaign for the launch of the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Network. Our very own Kali Blunt is in America and collected the award yesterday in Indianapolis, Indiana!... The digital marketing campaign ran at the end of last year and was rolled out in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Japan, with the objective of attracting high value investment enquiries. We worked with council to create a video with 3D animation and produced in English, simplified Chinese and Japanese. Kali is heading to NYC and New Orleans next to soak up the true US music and culture vibe. She's looking forward to bringing the award home for council's boardroom mantel! Tim recommends ...that businesses adopt a helpful marketing approach, focusing on teaching and telling, rather than selling. Every one of you is standing on a mountain of knowledge. You know so much about the challenges your prospects and customers have, Tim said. Sharing your knowledge through podcasts, videos, blogs, ebooks and social content means you’ll be helping customers and potential customers, ultimately building a tribe of supporters - in the same way Jamie Oliver has built his brand on the back of giving away his secrets on television. Helpful marketing returns more customers, makes you more money and can cost significantly less than traditional advertising. Google algorithms favour interesting, helpful and locally based content, so sharing your knowledge will not only connect you with customers, it will improve your organic search rankings. As Tim says: helpful marketing is a good way to keep your website updated. If you haven’t updated your website in the last 4-5 months, Google will stop indexing it.
