25.01.2022 What a wonderful day. I got to share the bowls with a wonderful group of people and took a little adventure around the outskirts of Canberra. Connecting with the earth at the river and in the hills. What a wonderful city, filled with wonderful people. 25.01.2022 The new year is just around the corner and this can often be a time when we look back and reflect on the year past, what we have achieved and often times what we said we would do and didn't! Its the things we didn't do that often have us beating ourselves up, feeling like we have failed and then left feeling defeated and lesser. Not doubt this is not a good way to feel, nor a great way to move into the new year. So how do we stop the cycle? We listen! Hear the internal dial...og, recognise it and then PAUSE, TAKE A FEW DEEP BREATHS and REFRAME! Reframing the negative self talk to be an observation and then changing the words around to be more compassionate and forgiving. We also need to put things in perspective, rethink the hierarchy. How important is it that you do X, Y and Z? In the grand scheme of things very little is actually really important at all. What is important is where you are right in that moment because that is all there really is. So when you make your New Years resolutions you might just consider a new attitude to your self talk, rather than a new you. You are already perfect, it's what you tell yourself that may need revising. Based on the success and wonderful feedback from Radhika's 108 Sun Salutations event we have created a class dedicated to the Sun Salutation. Traditionally this sequence has been known as a complete practice, preparing and priming the body for the day and to sit in Meditation. Combining Sun Mantras, with Radhika's amazing voice, Pranayama (breath work) and a classical style of Sun Salutation this class will take you on a unique... journey through your body and your mind. This Mandala represents what CYS is all about. * CONNECT | REVITALISE | CREATE * Mandalas are circles of energy and flow, repeated patterns and cycles that draw you in, take you out, around and everywhere, just like life, our thoughts, our emotions and our human cycles. They are continually expressed through nature, in our body and everywhere, ...you just need to look. This mandala was created and designed by an incredible artist @zkorvin. I found Zak through my own love of watching people draw mandalas and my own love of drawing them. His mediative process and love for the beauty of mandala design and creation embodied our ethos and I had to do it. I feel so grateful that I could support this wonderful artist through this commission and we had a great time working together to make it happen. 13.01.2022 Yoga during pregnancy is a great way to connect with your baby and nourish your body and mind as they changes and transforms. Yoga post birth will help you put your body back together with compassion and help you navigate the complete and radial change life has taken since having baby. At CYS we have 2 Prenatal classes a week and 1 Postnatal/mums-n-bubs each week for a 10 week course. Both courses start again the week starting Monday 12th October. 11.01.2022 As the mother of a teenage boy I am seeing first hand the struggles kids are going through. Dependence on devices is high, peer communication seems to be fast and easy. I cant see that they are actually communicating, I just see snaps of foreheads... It has always entered my thoughts though that yoga is a great tool for adolescents and kids of all ages. It can help them navigate the ups and downs of puberty and growth, can help them feel more in control of their life and the ...huge changes that happen. It can help them feel more connected to themselves especially as they get bombarded with rubbish and expectation on appearance. Perhaps you have seen this in your kids. Maybe you could suggest they try some yoga? I even asked one of my sons friends if she would do yoga. She said she tried it once but was no good at it. Who is good at anything the first time they do it? Why do we have this expectation that we have to be good at something in order to do it? Can we not just do it for the benefits it can provide, for the pure enjoyment it gives us? In time we might get good at it. I don't even know what "good at yoga " means. One does yoga to explore and connect their body, discover how it feels when we do this shape and that shape, among other reasons. Simply showing up and doing it is being good at it in my book. If you have a teenager you might try doing some yoga with them, you might find they feel good for it See more

10.01.2022 After a very long break Friday night Meditation is back at CYS. This is an hour for you to look inward and find space. Each week I guide the practice with a Yoga Nidra, a short session of my beloved crystal singing bowls and a time of silence. This is a free session starting at 6:30 - 7:30pm. Places are limited due to Covid restrictions, so booking are essential. Please bring any cushions or blankets you might need to be comfortable. I look forward to seeing you there. Namaste Eli

I have signed up to be part of a world wide movement to raise the vibration of the planet on a very specific day and time as the planets align. Whilst astrology has never been my strong suit I felt it a wonderful indicative to get involved and help create some change on a planetary scale. 09.01.2022 Today I had the hard time of saying goodbye to this amazing group of people. These are my MS Foundation class members. I have been teaching these inspirational people for roughly 5 years, non of us can actually remember how long. They have taught me so much on so many levels. I would certainly not know and understand chronic conditions as well as I do if I had not worked with each of them. They trusted me to try new things as I researched different neurological techniques and... studied anatomy. They trusted my theories and proved me right time and time again. What a gift. They are inspiring, strong, courageous and ever ready to listen to my stories, wacky ideas and helped me through many moments of personal growth. I don’t know who got more out of our time together, them or me. I have given up the classes to be able to spend more time focusing on CYS and my private bodywork practice. Ever grateful for the time we have shared, the lessons learnt and the laughs we have had. I will miss you all. See more

08.01.2022 Communication - sometimes flowing and easy, sometimes not..... This week I have experienced both. In some spaces my ease of connection and communication has been effortless and joyful. But I have also had confused communication this week. It has left me feeling sick, concerned and sad. What do we do when we feel we are not heard, or wires get crossed or we simply get confused? We can ask for clarification, we can offer sincere apology and we can sit with the sensation in our... body. We must also remember that if we are always doing our best and holding love and compassion in our hearts through our actions then these miscommunications where meant to be, even if we wish they had not. There is always a lesson to be learned and it was our time to learn it. For me the lesson this week has been to take time to act, to give myself space to consider what must be done before jumping into action and being rushed. The lesson has also been to let it go. Once I have done my best to just let it be. I am not responsible for another personas response or feelings. My actions are born from love and a desire to help and be of service, if I act in this way, even if and especially if things are uncomfortable then I can do no more and I must let it be. Life is full of challenge, it will always be, its how we show up and respond to the challenge that we have full governance over. I choose to step into my power, to be present and thoughtful in my communication and actions. I am conscious! I am AWAKE

08.01.2022 Stillness can be hard to find. The mental chatter can bombard us with memories of the past or worries for the future . We zip from one thing to the next, mental lists of things to do. Sometimes the thoughts are productive and sometime destructive. But finding our way through to a quiet place can allude us. So how do we get there and once there in the stillness what do we do? One way is to just start to notice, watch the thoughts, notice the noice. Then look for the space between the thoughts. Once you find it try to stay there. We can do this any where, any time. And like so many things, it takes practice to get good at it. Give it a try, what do you notice?

Day 1 I hit the gym, today looks like a beautiful day so I might go for a walk and even a little jog I have been working with people suffering with mental illness for many years and the movement I have shared with them has always made such a difference. 01.01.2022 Is there a danger of over-stretching in pregnancy? There is the potential to overstretch doing yoga during pregnancy, as the hormone relaxin is released in the body as part of the process. Relaxin softens the ligaments around the pelvis to prepare your body for birth. Because of this, we believe it is important to be conservative in your movements; never stretch to the edge of your flexibility range, and always be mindful of whether it feels right for you.
