Just hours after we took delivery, we put the appliance through it's paces at a house fire in Macquarie Fields early this morning

21.01.2022 B platoon had on interesting house fire early this afternoon in Macquarie Fields. On arrival the crew made entry through the front door only to be confronted with another. Once passed the second door there was an elaborate hydroponic growing operation inside. Power was isolated, but a secondary source was being used and only defensive firefighting tactics could be used. Once extinguished the premises was handed over to local detectives.

21.01.2022 Earl, the accelerant detection dog for the Fire Investigation and Research Unit was going through his paces in Ingleburn today. The scene of a suspicious house fire which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning is currently being investigated by FIRU officers. The cause is yet to be determined.

20.01.2022 Macquarie Fields Fire and Rescue responded to the aid of a kitten in distress today. A litter of kittens was living in the roof of a house when one ventured too... far and fell into a wall cavity The kitten had been stuck in the wall for two days and unable to free itself. Fire and Rescue crews cut a small hole in the wall and located the kitten with a mirror before rescuing the wayward tabby. This all happened during the race that stops a nation. Not even the Melbourne Cup could stop Fire and Rescue crews. #cat #rescue

09.01.2022 Yesterday's 24hr shift for C platoon was one of the busiest shifts on record for Macquarie Fields firefighters. In total, 084 pumper responded to 20 incidents right across Sydney. The first 14 incidents were consecutive. In total Fire & Rescue NSW answered more than 15,000 Triple Zero calls during the weather event. K/1 student Taheeya Talha of Macquarie Fields Public School was kind enough to drop off this beautifully illustrated envelope and card along with a flower.
