25.01.2022 Our book swap is underway in the foyer! Bring in a book you no longer want/need and take a new book home! Don't forget do take one of our new 'Activity Cards' home from our play display which is all about books!

22.01.2022 In the preparation for Halloween, using paints and play-dough our pumpkins came alive! Together we crafted our own 2D and 3D orange vegetable, this sensory activity worked on our fine motor skills and our creativity as we got to mold the dough into our own perspective of a pumpkin. The orange overload also helped our ducklings work on their color recognition.

20.01.2022 Teaching and role modelling consent is extremely important in the work we do with children, as well as parents. Showing respect for children's choices, their l...evel of comfort and using the correct terminology for private parts can be extremely empowering for young children! #earlyyearstraining #childrensrights #childrensvoices #earlychildhood #choices #teachconsent Image Source: Perth children's occupational therapy

12.01.2022 The Crocodiles enjoy reading aboriginal dreamtime stories. Their favourites are "When the Snake Bites the Sun" and "How the Birds Got Their Colours".

11.01.2022 Christmas spirit is in the air! The Crocodiles enjoyed decorating their Christmas tree today. We have also been doing lots of Christmas craft together and singing Christmas songs, we are keen for the holidays to start!

09.01.2022 Recently in the Ducklings we have worked on some mindfulness and incorporated Yoga. Yoga is a great exercise as it engages core, encourages balance, calms the mind whist increasing concentration and lastly helps with proper breathing techniques. Our Ducklings choose their poses by flicking through a brochure with multiple poses reflecting animal body shapes to further encourage their participation.

08.01.2022 We have found a hidden talent in Miss Jade today! The children were in awe of Miss Jade playing some of their favourite songs on her guitar!

07.01.2022 Today the crocodiles talked about the kangaroo! We noticed the features of the kangaroo such as their eyes, ears, long legs and that sometimes they have a pouch for their baby Joey. We looked at photos of where kangaroos lived in the bushland of Australila and then used craft materials to create our own kangaroos, capturing their physical features and habitat.

05.01.2022 Our Ducklings have enjoyed running their own headquarters at the centre! Taking phone calls, writing reports and checking play roll for their peers. Our children are demonstrating roll playing from their imaginative skills and transferring their knowledge of how to use such devices having seen adults using them. Their creative minds have lead them to really enjoy their hard work at the office!

01.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC week, the Crocodiles used their fine motor skills to paint dots onto pebbles. They learnt that this is a traditional way that the Aboriginal people used to paint. We used earthy colours such as yellow, orange, brown and black.
