17.01.2022 Reminder: MTAS Monthly Meeting Tomorrow, 11th May 2021 Critique Night with Frank Hodgert Reminding all that we have Frank Hodgert with us at our next monthly meeting tomorrow, 11th May, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.... This will be a Critique Night with Frank, please bring along a painting or 2 that you would like feedback, possible ideas to solve any problems you may be having with composition, colours, techniques, etc. A critique is always a valuable experience for all artists to grow & understand how others interpret your work. Register your attendance at [email protected] or join us online. Frank, who has taught art as well as many workshops and demonstrations, has had an interest in painting and drawing since childhood. Frank has always had the yearning to draw and paint. His outlet in his early days was as a colour etcher in photo engraving and lithography, which is a part of the printing trade. And also working in the graphic arts industry. Over the years he has attended many workshops to hone his skills and has won many awards for his work. Frank has won many awards and is a favourite of our local artists. Both Members and Non Members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts. 17.01.2022 Reminder: Combined Art Societies of Sydney Inc The 31st ‘Art of Sydney’ Awards Online Entries Close 1st December The 31st ‘Art of Sydney’ Awards will be held online at www.artofsydneyexhibition.com (Please note: this link is closed until the exhibition goes live and opens).... All Entry Application Forms must be received by the closing date 1st December 2020. This year CASS is inviting artists from Member Societies to participate. It will show from 15th January to 28th February 2021 on the website. Entry Information: With the decision made to hold the 2021 Art of Sydney Awards Exhibition online, the Entry Application and Terms and Conditions for the event are now available for members here: wwww.artofsydneyexhibition.com/members It is most important that you take time to read the new set of Terms and Conditions, as you can imagine there have been many changes made regarding how this online exhibition will work and you need to make yourself familiar with all of those changes. The Entry Application Form is to be filled in and submitted online. Once you have entered your works and paid, you will be notified about uploading images of your work. You can also download the Terms & Conditions of Entry & Sale of Paintings PDF by clicking here on this link. [https://www.mtas.com.au//2021-Art-of-Sydney-information.pdf] Images of paintings may be uploaded to the website from 1st November 2020 until 6pm on the 10th December 2020. The Judge for this exhibition will be renowned artist John Haycraft. The digital images of your paintings that you send to the CASS must be good quality and the size the CASS is seeking, ie: in MB and pixels. If you are a little hesitant when it comes to taking really good photos, particularly of your paintings, there are numerous websites which provide assistance to help you to obtain good images of your artwork, such as the Museums & Galleries of NSW. The public will view our paintings on their computer and will expect that what they see there is what they will be getting if they choose to make a purchase. Editing photos that we have taken of our paintings can often change the look of our actual picture quite dramatically. There can often be issues because the painting is not what it looked like on the internet the colours are lighter, or darker, or the colours, not quite the same as they were in the painting the buyer saw in the online exhibition. If you edit your paintings in any way make sure the onscreen image still looks like the same painting. There has been an amazing amount of work done and is still being done by several of the CASS Committee members in an attempt to not have to cancel the 31st Art of Sydney Awards Exhibition and it is hoped that all CASS members will take advantage of this different way to show, and hopefully sell our artwork. 15.01.2022 MTAS Spring Affair 2020 Finishes Tomorrow Sat 14th Nov Don't miss it! Our 'Spring Affair' Exhibition will finish this Saturday! Make sure you don't miss out on seeing this beautiful Exhibition.... Our artists who have their work hanging can come between 4pm - 5pm to pickup or change over to new works for the next hanging. You can keep your work hanging and pay $2 per work and add more or change over. There is a limit of 3 works per artist. Small to Medium works welcome. 14.01.2022 MTAS Monthly Demonstration Meeting Tuesday, 8th June John Wilson, Oils We are excited to have John Wilson demonstrating in Oils for our next demonstration on Tuesday, 8th June, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio at 300 George st Windsor.... With CovidSafe practices in place, please make sure you register your attendance for in person at the Stan Stevens Studio. Please note we will not be doing a Zoom for this demonstration. About John Wilson: John Wilson is one of Australia’s leading oil painters. He grew up in the beautiful Blue Mountains of NSW. He is a multi-award winning artist whose works capture the unique and more elusive qualities of Australian landscapes. John’s paintings can be found in private, corporate and public collections throughout Australia and internationally. He is also a fellow of The Royal Art Society of NSW, and the patron of the Society of Mountain Artists. They will then be processed there and you can exit via the front entry closest to the car park. 08.01.2022 Reminder: The Hawkesbury Art Fair 2020 finishes this Sun 29th Nov Make sure you see The Hawkesbury Art Fair 2020 before it closes this Sunday, 29th November Don’t forget to go and see the beautiful Hawkesbury Art Fair at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery in Windsor. It runs until Sunday, 29th November and is open every day except Tuesdays.... We have our MTAS artists seen here below and a brilliant array of other groups on show. We have had a successful exhibition so far selling 6 works from MTAS section and from The Piggery 3 works had been sold by MTAS artists, from HCAW 7 ceramic pieces created by MTAS members had been sold, FOHAC had 7 works sold and 1 painting from HAAT. There is still time for more. Organisations represented at the fair this year include the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop, Piggery Lane Studios, Hawkesbury Artists and Artisans Trail, Hawkesbury Camera Club, Macquarie Towns Arts Society and Ferry Studio Artists.
