22.01.2022 VIRTUAL IDEATION CHALLENGE - COMPLETE! Last week we challenged 40 students from Macquarie University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to pitch their solutions to a problem created by the COVID-19 pandemic. What the teams accomplished in just 5 days far exceeded expectations! Networks were expanded, friendships were formed, fun was had, and students applied their learning to real-life problems. 16.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came along to the MQ Incubator 2019 Pitch Final. Six talented teams pitched in front of a supportive and interested gallery. There was a huge level of excitement and energy in the room. In an unprecedented outcome resident startup, Your Link, won all 3 prizes - Best Pitch, Most Appealing Investment & Audience Choice Award.... All finalists were exceptional and it was clear that huge amounts of time and effort were put into the pitches, and over the duration of the MQ Incubator's pitching program. We celebrated with an appropriately themed Halloween social after the event.

Over 120 MQ students were fortunate to score a place in this highly competitive program - demonstrating in their application an eagerness to learn, a willingness to work with others, and most of all, a desire to get creative! Students will work in multi-disciplinary teams on a very topical and relevant issue - rethinking and exploring the design of... flexi working into the future. We'll share updates as the students ideate, incubate, prototype and showcase their designs with the help of the facilitators Nathan Baird & Rob O'Donnell.

Over the 12 week program, students learnt from a very impressive and inspiring line-up of experienced entrepreneurs and speakers. The workshops equipped them with the skills and confidence to further develop their social enterprise. The pitch final showcased a great variety of ideas tackling big problems - ewaste, loneliness & isolation at university, and securing work as you age - just to name a few. A special thank you to Michael Guo and Visionary for their generous support, and to our partners at Social Impact Hub for producing such a great program.

Sustainable Schoolwear makes a special blend of certified organic cotton and polyester from recycled plastic bottles which is made into sustainable school uniforms and apparel. If just 10 per cent of Australia's students wore one sustainably made school item, they could save 2 billion litres of water and upcycle 2.7 million plastic bottles from landfil...l!
