25.01.2022 LIGHT COLOUR MIXING... What a fantastic (and unique) device to demonstrate that white light is composed of all the colours of the rainbow (visible spectrum), and mixing of the three primary colours of light (red, green and blue). Colour mixing (additive) with light is often hard for students to understand when compared to colour mixing (subtractive) with pigment as it seems counter-intuiative. https://www.madaboutscience.com.au//tri-colour-experimenta

24.01.2022 Connect straws to make a super-duper long straw... Can you still drink from it?

24.01.2022 BEST BUBBLES = FAIRY ORIGINAL If you look close enough, there is so much in a soap bubble - rainbow colours swirl as light reflects off both sides, the thin film twists and bends to reduce surface area. 19.01.2022 Science trick for the weekend... Turn matchsticks from non-magnetic to MAGNETIC by striking and burning the head When the head is burnt it undergoes a chemical reaction from iron oxide (non magnetic) to pure iron (magnetic). Keep your family guessing with this one, but you will need a strong magnet. Iron(III) oxide + carbon iron + carbon dioxide... https://www.madaboutscience.com.au///magnetic-match-sticks
