15.01.2022 What grows well for you in Autumn?

15.01.2022 At the garden, we don't use chemicals, we mix the garden beds with veggies and flowers, and promote a safe place for all of God's creation. Today while watering the garden I had a visit by a magpie who insisted I give her a shower. With wings spread and feathers ruffled she sang a song and the drifted away.

15.01.2022 This summer has given us the full kit and caboodle. From a cold, cloudy, windy start to spring. A few extreme heat wave days including a Code Red and then in the new year good amounts of rain, sun, cloud and so and so....... How the heck do you garden in this crazy weather? Answer: We at MADCOW Community Garden have built ourselves a hothouse. This will allow us to grow veg seedlings under protection, it will provide us with an early growing season; so we can grow nice big summer crops like Tomatoes and chillies. We may even play around with some hydroponics which is a rare sight for the traditional community garden. Thanks to Mr Parker who gave us the frame and a big thanks to the crew who lent a hand to put it together. Grow well everyone.

11.01.2022 'Our' Communities Garden was vandalised and had trees and plants stolen over the weekend . It is disappointing.. But our response is really important. Should we respond with anger & hatred? Or with love & compassion? 07.01.2022 At MADCOW Community Garden we not only grow vegetables but also make wicking garden beds, garden art, and funky stuff out of re-purposed junk. This is JD's foot and he's salvaging the old arch welder for THE REPURPOSE RACKET.

05.01.2022 The decisions and plans you make today are the successes or failures of the future. It is cold, windy, and the rain is drizzling; however, at MADCOW community garden we are planning and working for a brilliant spring and summer to come. Saturday afternoon the rumble of the little rotary hoe dug up an area of land that will be the future of our new garden plot that will grow tomatoes, chillies, and zucchinis. Between now and the break of spring we will dig in compost and manure so that the young seedlings will jump out of the sun-warmed ground,
