24.01.2022 As you may or may not know, Ashley and I, the Directors of Mad On Music are Foster Carers. We have a 15 month old girl with us at the moment who is an absolute darling. We wanted to especially thank a few people who have generously donated some things to assist her. These people offered items even though we did not request anything. They purely wanted to do their part in assisting a child and someone less fortunate than themselves. Thank you to Carlo Inglese & Robyn Wells for buying some nappies and baby wipes, a porta cot and high chair. Thank you to Robyns friend for donating some lovely near new girls clothing. Thank you to Melissa and her friend for donating some toys, clothes and wooden cot. Little one loves everything and says thank you too! You guys are awesome!

23.01.2022 Some more Mad On Music students take some time to share their thoughts about Mad on Music and also about their teacher Jeeny Ra who has been with Mad On Music for 8 years. So many ingredients are needed to make a successful music program. The most important ones being a solid program, care, commitment, a drive for excellence, and most importantly, a loving teacher who the students can connect with. We are very proud of each students achievements and blessed to have a great teacher on board like Jeeny!!! They love you!!x

22.01.2022 This card is a true representation of how much our students love us and miss us! It is so important to take care when instructing younger students as they listen to everything you say! They genuinely appreciate our kindness and dedication to them. A lovely card to Ashley one of the Directors of Mad On Music. This card is from one of our students at Holy Name Primary School who has such heartfelt things to say. Beautiful!

21.01.2022 2 experienced students performing The First Noel. These 2 students are absolutely amazing and will enter Secondary College very well prepared musically. Carol was prepared by Mad On Music to sit Grade 1& 2 Piano with the Australian Music Examination Board and received glowing results and Caryn has reached a high level with her last performance at the term 3 MOM concert being a duet with a guitarist performing "The Notebook" from the movie. Just watching you two here..Absolute professionalism. Very proud of you!!!

21.01.2022 The last last performance for the year was the Mad On Music singers performing at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre. These students participate in the Mad on Music singing program. They looked fabulous and sang like angels! In the lead up to the event, I visited all the schools to rehearse with the students as well as to support the teachers. The students had only 1 rehearsal together the day before at the Mad On Music studio and did an awesome job! The following schools participated: Glen Waverley South, Fountain Gate, Banyan Fields, Berwick Fields & Carwatha College Primary Schools. Ladies, I am very proud of you. You sang and dressed well and have had some lovely feedback from the passers by as well as from the Centre. Cannot wait until next year! There will be some live footage posted soon:)x

21.01.2022 I was going through some footage this evening and came across some assembly performances that occurred in Term 2 this year. In Term 1 and 2 of each year Mad On Music teachers prepare students to perform at assembly. This is a great way to highlight students and assist building their confidence. A student form Berwick Chase Primary School has prepared a song and performs it with ease! Way to go! Jeeny is the Mad On Music teacher at Berwick Chase Primary School and has been with Mad On Music for 8 years! Her students are always given the utmost of care and her dedication is number one! Go Jeeny!

19.01.2022 We must all support music in all schools but especially in primary schools. More and more schools are of the opinion that music is not important and not as impo...rtant as other core subjects. This is the age to assist in making a difference. Scientific studies have shown that musical training changes the brain and the earlier the instruction begins the greater the changes. Active participation in music lessons has much more of an affect on brain development than does passive listening or exposure to music. Students need all the assistance possible in brain development! Say YES to music in your school! We need music!! See more

19.01.2022 A photo of the Mad On Music singers getting ready before their performance!

19.01.2022 Prior to closing down for the year Mad On Music hold their term 4 Christmas Concert in all the schools. MOM students have an informal gathering and perform their Christmas carol that they have been working on through the term. Here is one of our students singing a cappella. What a lovely voice. You rock!!

17.01.2022 Thanks Stephen for your kind words and support of the Mad on Music program over 18 years.

17.01.2022 This lovely young lass has been with the Mad On Music program for 5 years and now sadly and excitingly moves on to year 7. She has learnt keyboard with us for this time and has advanced to an intermediate level. Although she never participated in the Mad On Music singing program she has always loved to sing. Mad On Music has been instrumental in coaching her in the art of singing and playing the keyboard. Extra time was spent giving tips in combining the two instruments. Her debut performance of singing and playing was a rewarding event and she did an awesome job! Her performance here is at our last lesson playing and singing (of course!), Oh Come All Ye Faithful! Well done over the years and all the best as you approach Secondary College!

16.01.2022 As you may or may not know my husband and I are foster carers. We have been doing this for 2 years now. We have a young girl with us who is homeless, as are her parents. We have been caring for her since March of this year. We do not know if she will be with us permanently and will find out in March of next year where a final decision will be made on whether her parents are deemed by the courts to be suitable carers. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has ...supported her with clothing, cot, high chair, blankets, toys etc, and spent time with her up to date. She is very blessed to have a supportive network. She and we have appreciated all the love and care people have put forward. People always ask what they can do and how they can contribute. If you feel you would like to assist in any way please let us know either by PM or phone. Regards Ash and Lee See more

15.01.2022 As a teacher you never forget your students. You may lose touch with them but never do you forget. I used to teach a student called Rishi Chaubal-Menon from Doncaster Gardens PS. He participated in the Mad On Music program and also became a private student of mine. He was a lovely student and very intelligent. Good at everything. Loved life! His mother Manisha connected with me on Linked In and let me know the terrible news of his death. I didnt know and am very saddened to ...hear of the news. "The papers - " At 18, a former student of Melbournes elite Scotch College, was found dead on the Hollywood Freeway shortly after midnight on October 31 last year. The police California Highway Patrol investigators believe the teenager may have been the victim of a hit-and-run driver. However, they did not find broken glass or pieces of a car usually associated with a crash at the scene. We have exhausted all of the leads we have, Captain Johnny Starling, of the California Highway Patrol, told reporters at a Los Angeles press conference in the hope of generating new leads. Mr Chaubal-Menon had just begun studies at the New York Film Schools Los Angeles campus." My belated condolences to the family. Rest in peace Rishi...What an awful tragedy....

12.01.2022 As we close the doors to Semester 1 and go forward into Semester 2 we reflect on what we have been able to achieve and how we have been able to support the students and the schools. Mad On Musics assembly performances is a new component of the Mad On Music program and was launched this year. Assembly performances occur in Term 1 and Term 2 of the Primary School year and is there to highlight the students who wish to showcase their talent. It is up to the Mad On Music teache...r to choose students for at least 2-3 performances each term. The students that wish to put in some extra practise and work hard are chosen to perform. Over the next month we will be posting some of the performances as a way of highlighting their achievements. To kick things off we have a lovely Grade 6 student that has been with the program since Grade 1. She is playing an awesome piece and applaud her hard work and talent!! These are very rewarding moments for the team!xx See more

12.01.2022 We are in the middle of interviewing for new music teachers and it never ceases to amaze me how many people apply for teaching positions that have absolutely no idea on how to teach and are only interested in using teaching as a means to an end. It is getting harder and harder to find good quality people with a passion for not only teaching but for teaching children music. A lot of them only think about themselves and how much money they can make for doing as little as possi...ble. In our experience very few go the extra mile and take the job seriously. A lot of the younger generation expect to be paid top dollar with not having put in the hard yards. They are surprised when they lose students and have no clue why? We have one teacher on board that said after 3 weeks of teaching "But it is just too hard". Mad on Music is only interested in passionate people with a love for children and teaching and igniting the spark! If you wish to baby sit your students there are programs out there that cater for that style of teaching. We are NOT one of those programs. See more

10.01.2022 I got a lovely message today with some video footage from one of my students at Banyan Fields Primary School who has been madly practising her Concert piece, Harry Potter. Students are given backing tracks to practise with so they gain confidence in learning their song at a faster pace. Jordan was worried about her piece and after spending some time with her over the phone last week she is now kicking goals!! Her backing track had 3 speeds -Slow / Medium /Normal. She is now playing the normal speed and look how excited she is!!! Jordan, you Rock!!!!!!!!!
