25.01.2022 WELCOME BACK PARENTS Our operating guidelines have changed now to begin allowing increased parent access to school. THIS AFTERNOON... Foundation parents may come into the school from 3.05pm to 3.20pm to pick up their Foundation students and come inside briefly to celebrate some terrific '100 day' learning. Please note that all parents entering classrooms must wear a mask inside at all times. FRIDAY ONWARDS All parents will be welcome to come into the school ground to drop off and pick up students. Parents must carry a mask and wear a mask if entering a classroom. No parent may stay longer than 15 minutes at the school during pick up and drop off. Foundation students will be dismissed at 3.20pm from their classroom in line with other year levels. Drinking taps are now operating. Further changes for next week will be announced tomorrow. We are very excited to welcome back our families to Maffra PS. Mr Currie

23.01.2022 UPDATE FOR MAFFRA PS FAMILIES Good evening, This afternoon the following arrangements have been announced for Regional Victorian schools: MONDAY 3RD AUGUST... Normal School Day We need every student at school tomorrow please as they will receive a remote learning pack. The remote learning pack will contain exercise books, activities, reading books and their pencil case. TUESDAY 4TH AUGUST State-wide Curriculum Day No students at school / No remote learning WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST Remote Learning Begins I will provide more information to our families over the next 24-48 hours but we are not expecting any of our students to engage in electronic remote learning at all next week. There will be enough hands on activities sent home tomorrow for students to complete from Wednesday to Friday. This is designed to give all our families a chance to draw breath and prepare (physically and mentally) for Round 2! We will be using Dojo and virtual class meetings down the track but more details on this will follow at a later date. 11.01.2022 PREPARING FOR NEXT WEEK Good afternoon everyone, All students today have received a letter to outline the wearing of face coverings that comes into effect on Monday morning. Below are some answers to common questions we have been asked today. Q) Do Primary School Students need to wear face coverings at school?... A) No unless they would like to. Q) Will staff be wearing face coverings at Maffra Primary School? A) All staff will be wearing face coverings at all times unless they are teaching a class. All staff will be wearing face coverings on yard duty, in office areas, staff rooms, and during meetings. Q) Do other adults coming to schools need to wear face coverings? A) Yes, all adults must wear face coverings when visiting schools? Q) What about 12 year olds travelling to and from school? A) We have spoken to our 12 year old students today and advised the following. Please wear a face coverings when walking, catching a bus, or travelling to or from school with another family. A face covering is NOT required when you are cycling, on a scooter, or travelling to and from school with only members of your household. 09.01.2022 REMINDERS FOR TOMORROW Afternoon everyone, Just a reminder to start us off tomorrow. STUDENTS COMING TO SCHOOL... Families must have contacted the school prior to tomorrow morning for on site student attendance. For the limited number of students we have on site please read the following guidelines carefully: Please bring students to the front office no earlier than 8.30am. All students will be temperature checked and contact details confirmed. Students will need to be picked up from the office at 3.20pm at the end of the day. All other gates will be locked around the school. Please make sure that students bring water bottles, lunch and their learning packs with them each day. STUDENTS REMOTE LEARNING All students learning from home have a learning pack with tasks for the week. Please remember the following Department Guidelines for the amount of work each day: - 45 minute literacy activity - 45 minute maths activity - 45 minute free choice activity. I will provide more details to all Maffra families via our Dojo App tomorrow. If you have trouble accessing Dojo please contact the school tomorrow so we can assist. Finally... All of us are in a bit of shock that we are back on the remote learning train. Please be gentle to yourselves and your students, particularly as we all settle into the new daily routine. All presents are $5. The Duart Food Van will be in attendance and will be selling bacon and egg rolls, donuts, and coffee for $5 each. Cash or card will be accepted.
