23.01.2022 pretty stoked to announce that I’m going to be opening for Greta Stanley at her hometown show at Laneway Green on feb 1st greta is absolute magic to watch (I cry nearly every time I watch her) and a lovely lovely friend of mine, not to mention a huge inspiration so this is pretty damn cool. also,, it’s going to be my last solo gig in cairns for quite a while bc I’m moving to melbourne a couple days after so, hope to see you there x x
22.01.2022 so after ages and ages and ages I FINALLY have some new music coming out. on august 24th my single 'stability' will be out on all platforms!!! this song was recorded through the big sky girls mentorship which I have been lucky enough to be a part of for the past year. it's going to be a part of a collaborative album along with songs from an incredible group of young, regional, female songwriter's. 'stability' is about being aware of the changes you need to make in order to he...lp yourself, but struggling to actually get to a point where you're implementing them. something I've found increasingly hard to do during this totally whacked out time. I recorded this in Brisbane a year ago (where I'm currently living at the moment thanks to COVID, Brisbane folk keep an eye out for some gigs soon) and I cannot put into words how excited I am that it's finally going to see the light of day. love to you all! maggie x photos by the wonderful David Kapernick

Maggie Slater's song 'Stability' was written from the prompt 'Hungry' and originally called 'Starving'. Maggie confides that when she first uploaded the song on the I Heart Songwriting Club portal she "only had a verse or two and felt really stuck on where to take it but I left the song for a while and came back to it with my band and that's when it all came together. She says 'Stability' is about becoming aware of the changes you need to make in order to help yourself, but struggling to actually get to a point where you're implementing them." 15.01.2022 just want to say a mASSIVE!!! thank you to everybody who came to our last gig at machans last friday, we had an absolute ball. what a send off. big thanks to The Mallows Band & The Zephyrbees for their killer sets, to Caleb Daly for the brilliant pics and to all the legends that stuck around to help us clean up afterwards. I also want to get a little gooey for a second and say a huge thank you to Noah, Maddy & Thomas, playing with these guys this past year has been so incred...ibly productive and inspiring and not to mention fun as hell. I can't wait to get back into it as soon as we can <3 I'll be playing a solo set at Laneway Green this saturday opening for Greta Stanley with LEANNE TENNANT which really will be my last gig before I'm off on friday, super exicted!! hopefully I'll see a couple of you there mags x
