15.01.2022 We are very sad to hear that after three years of offering a fantastic community and space for the Brisbane gaming community, us included, The Magic Vault is closing its doors after a long period of bad luck on a range of fronts. We wish them luck with all their future endeavours, and look forward to continuing our working relationship with the awesome team. In the mean time, we are looking hard for a new venue. We have a few options on the table, but we obviously welcome suggestions. We will try to let you all know when we have one to work out.

08.01.2022 So, like many of you, my OGS rank bears no resemblance to my offline rank. Mostly because I tend to favour correspondence games. In order to rectify this, I pla...n to play at least one ranked, live game on OGS per day for a week. What goals would you like to work towards for the next week or two? It can be studying a certain amount, achieving a certain rank, playing a number of games; as long as it's SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-based), it's a valid goal. We'll call it the Govid Challenge, because everyone likes a good pun. #govidchallenge

04.01.2022 Congratulations to the inaugural Cecil Kuo Memorial champion, Mark Bell 2d, and to Sun Woo Nam 2k and Erli Qiu 2d who placed second and third in the open divisi...on of yesterday's memorial tournament at the home of the Brisbane Go Club in Annerley. David Schofield 6k won the handicap division, with Benjamin Fournier 1k in a photo finish second place (two victories each) and Arden Rushwood 4k third. The fighting spirit award goes to Elizabeth Patrick. Kudos to tournament director Allan Hunt plus his cronies for running the event as last-minute substitutes.

02.01.2022 The 40th Queensland Go Championships will be at Ace Comics & Games Annerley (the meeting place of the Brisbane Go Club) on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February, six rounds over two days.
