25.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18 September: Introducing performer 1 of 6: TOMAS FORD!! Tomas Ford is a legend in the Perth cabaret and alt comedy scene. Perhaps best known for his insanely energetic Crap Rave Music Parties which he has performed all around the world, to sell out audiences. But hes done so much more than this... Hes a DJ, musician, artist, and general purveyor of beautiful madness. Im so delighted to have Tomas onboard for this final show. ... Catch him in the final instalment of WEDNESDAY WEIRDOS on 18th September.

24.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18 September. Introducing performer 5 of 6: LAURA HUTCHINSON! After taking out 2nd place at the prestigious RAW Comedy Competition at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this year, Laura Hutchinson joins the ranks of previous runner-ups Ronny Chieng, Celia Pacquola, Anne Edmonds and Luke McGregor. ... A regular in comedy rooms around Perth, you should all come and see this up-and-comer while you can still afford to! "Her humour is cynical but packed with jokes." Chortle, 2019. Grab your tickets now.

23.01.2022 Usually at my gigs, when volunteers draw pictures for one of the routines, I see stick people, cocks, houses, trees, and cocks. Yesterday however, I had the pleasure of performing a show for the lovely folks of the Watercolour Society... and this was the lovely result!! Note the portrait of me in the tip left. Dashing, if I do say so myself. #robbietmagician #perthmagician #watercoloursociety

23.01.2022 Wedding last night. Thanks for having me there Bec and Will. Cool venue, with painted walls and suitcases on the ceiling. Rocked a short sleeve collar shirt under my jacket for first time ever. I have my reasons. Another wedding tonight, followed by a corporate parlour show. ... #PerthMagician #RobbieT

22.01.2022 Gig three of five for the week so far... and back for the second year in a row, performing for the lovely folks of Rexel Australia, following their golf day. 120 dudes. Always fun. Thanks for having me! #rexelaustralia #robbietmagician #perthmagician

21.01.2022 Come and catch me and several other performers in this very unique sounding event, which is being live streamed, this Saturday night.

20.01.2022 Me, outside the show venue, prior to suiting up. Sonic had big hair, this is my impression of Sonic, outside the Sonic tent. Layers upon layers to my instagram wit. Pretty full house for the show which was nice. Thanks @belmontcouncilwa for having me!! #celebratebelmont

19.01.2022 Updating a few things ahead of next weekend’s 2 wedding gigs. Getting my art on. Only another 36 cards to gooooo.... this is gonna take some time!

18.01.2022 View from last nights gig. It was a particularly fun one. I had that feeling people sometimes refer to as flow. And Im not referring to micturition.

18.01.2022 Have you got your tickets to this Wednesdays show yet? This is an insanely good line up, and probably the last time Ill be doing this event for a good while. Hope to see you there.

17.01.2022 Had my first ever axe throwing session today. This was a good run of throws. No, its not edited to show only the good throws. And yes, axe throwing is everything I ever dreamed of. Ill be back. #maniaxperth

17.01.2022 Wondering what to do tonight? Get on down to the final show of WEDNESDAY WEIRDOS at Lazy Susans. A great line up with five other performers joining me this evening. Comedy, cabaret, burlesque, magic, madness! All for a ridiculously fair price of just $15. Tickets online or cash only at the door.

14.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18 September: Introducing performer 4 of 6: ALICE MACK! In addition to burlesque, cabaret, and magic, every Wednesday Weirdos includes two local comedians. This month, Im thrilled to have Alice Mack joining our motley troupe!... Alice is a part-time stand up comic... a dichotomous professional amateur! Her humour ranges from conversations shes had with strangers on the bus, to things shes found in her handbag. She can sometimes be found performing at the Perth Comedy Lounge, the Moon Cafe, and the Fremantle Comedy Factory... But on the 18th September, we are delighted have her at Lazy Susans Comedy Den, for the final instalment of WEDNESDAY WEIRDOS. Grab your tickets now. Dont break my heart.

14.01.2022 Hey magic fans - I'm pretty quiet on the social media front. But here's something that deserves a mention: Next Monday 29th June, the Melbourne Magic Festival is hosting an online Gala show, featuring many of Australia's best magicians. As with many industries, full time performers have been hit very hard by COVID19! This is simply a fundraiser to support the art of magic, after this year's festival had to be cancelled. It's an awesome festival, and I was thrilled to have m...y show in it back in 2018. Tickets are as low as $5, but if you can give a little more, you may do so. I've just bought a full price ticket in solidarity. Details in the link: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event

14.01.2022 Hey folks - Im only doing this one more time! The final show is on 18th September and it has an insanely good line up. Tickets via event page, or at the door (cash only). Hope to see many of you there!

13.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18th September: Introducing performer 3 of 6: VIVIAN MARLOWE! Renowned for taking strip-tease and turning it on its head (and adding a few extra limbs here and there), shes the tail feather shaker and maker of all things giant and weird, who has hauled her reckless and contagious repertoires all over the country and internationally. ... With a reputation for leaving audiences sometimes confused, always amazed, and regularly picking their jaws up from the floor. Shes the rock and roll renegade that aint gonna slow down, so you better keep up! As an aside, Ms Marlowe was supposed to be in the August show, but sadly, she came down with lady flu at the last moment. But now, her immune system is rejuvenated and firing on all cylinders, and shes ready to shake things up. Get your tickets, fools. PHOTO CREDIT - Dan Zeplin. Check out his amazing work here: instagram.com/DanZeplin.

13.01.2022 A few day’s ago the Magic industry, and the world of skeptics lost a great man - the Amazing James Randi. Not just a great magician, but also one of the champions when it comes to debunking harmful bullshit... cons and scams which take advantage of desperate people, costing them money, and potentially their health and lives. Randi exposed the criminally inclined Peter Popov (a faith healer) for the fraud that he was and continues to be. Other targets of Randi have included Ur...i Geller, psychic surgery, bogus divining devices that are supposedly able to detect bombs, homeopathy, and the list goes on. Back in 2014 (I think) I had the pleasure of meeting Randi, at a special viewing plus Q and A with him, at a screening of AN HONEST LIAR - a doco about Randi’s life. Randi, and what he stood for, was also a big influence to me when I put together and performed a ten minute theatrical act, called FLIM FLAM... title borrowed from his book. It was my own demonstration of psychic surgery. I encourage all to find and watch the doco An Honest Liar. It’s excellent viewing. You’ll be missed Randi.

13.01.2022 A refreshingly different type of gig awaits me tonight in the gorgeous micro venue that is Rhubarb Records. Oh, and its a live streamed event, called can I stream?. Get on down for some fun! Thanks to The Caballeros for inviting me to join the party. @thecaballeros

12.01.2022 Friends - this is why Ive cancelled some bookings... including several weddings!

12.01.2022 This awesome young magician from Melbourne has just received a lovely, well deserved accolade. So good to see some female magicians in the industry, and within Australia... may we see many more! Well done Prue Spencer! You rock.

12.01.2022 Hens party post-show snap from midweek. It was a pleasure performing for these three, and a couple dozen other ladies. Thanks for having me. Xo #perthmagician #robbietmagician

11.01.2022 Hundreds of shows this Fringe, and dozens of magic acts as well. But special mention goes to magician Stuart Lightbody - one of the finest magicians Ive ever had the pleasure of knowing. His work is both baffling and poetically beautiful. Hes travelled half way around the world to be here, so go and show him some love, and grab yourself a ticket. You wont regret it for a second.

11.01.2022 Strolling magic for this awesome family company, celebrating 50 years. Lovely people.

11.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18 September. Introducing performer 6 of 6 - me, ROBBIE T! Your host. If youre on this page, you probably already know who I am. So, Ill keep this short, after which Ill provide some context for this event. I make my living from magic, and its been almost my sole livelihood for nearly years. Corporate events; weddings; birthday; mine sites; festivals; etc, Ive managed to make a pretty good living from it. Whod have thunk it possible? ... Anyway, I debuted this Wed Weirdos thing back in July, so that I could gather unique individuals who all have great things to share. Its provided us all with a space in which we can impart a little joy (for a very affordable fee); try new things; and push ourselves creatively. For my own selfish benefit, Ive gained experience in putting together events, promoting them, and MC-ing. Ive also met some super awesome weirdos along the way, and I gotta say, its been fun! Its been a labour of love. With venue hire, five artists and an AV tech to pay each month, Ive thus far opted to give all revenue to the artists and have kept none for myself. Aww, how very selfless right?! But seriously, its been nice to have a performance platform, for local artists. Anyway - as fun as its been, its a rather labour intensive process, and for the moment, I think three shows over three months is enough (especially with October - December being my busiest time of the year). I may return to something like this again in the future. Heck, I might even find a way to pay myself through it. So, if youd like to catch our last show (for now at least) get on down to Lazy Susans Comedy Den on Wednesday 18th September. Its looking like well have the best crowd yet, and Im super excited by the lineup Ive managed to assemble. Its going to be a hoot. 18+ event. TIX $15 at the door (cash only) or here: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=550928&

10.01.2022 A nice little SMS this morning from a beautiful bride. Thanks Hannah and Damon for having me at your celebration on Saturday. ‘Twas a blast.

10.01.2022 Bam! Its my ugly face. Tonights client saw me onstage a few weeks ago, and just had to get me onboard for her own thing tonight. Soon to be onstage in front of 120 pork producers, in this wonderfully opulent room. #PerthMagician #RobbieT

10.01.2022 COVID-19 and my UPCOMING BOOKINGS - Important Announcement! Friends and clients, so sorry, but Ive decided I need to cancel all my bookings for March and April. All is explained in the video below, but if you dont have time, heres the gist: 1 - Im doing this because I think its the socially responsible thing to do! The risk of more people getting ill or dying, outweighs the importance of a party being just a little bit better for a few hours. This is me practicing soc...ial distancing, and doing my part, towards trying to flatten the curve. 2 - If youve paid me a deposit, I will return it to you. Just send me your bank details. Or, you can let me retain it and we can put it towards another booking over the next 12 months. If we still cant make it work, Ill still refund you the deposit. If you have an upcoming booking with me, Ill be emailing you individually. I appreciate your understanding. Please know that Im not making this decision lightly! Be kind to one another. Dont be a dick. https://vimeo.com/398132562 ARTICLES OF INTEREST: https://medium.com//coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-d https://www.washingtonpost.com//2/world/corona-simulator/

10.01.2022 Cottesloe sunset. No filter. I shit you not. No filter.

08.01.2022 This mornings science experiment. Dont just throw out your next empty bottle of methylated spirits. Do this instead!! Yeah science.

08.01.2022 Im delighted to be the MC for a tonne of comical talent, taking place TONIGHT at Lazy Susans "SHAPIRO TUESDAY". Tickets are a mere $5 and this does tend to sell out, so be early! Come on down, to enjoy good comedy, and to witness the worst MC in Perth.

07.01.2022 Hey people - On Sunday 24th November, at 4pm, Ill be putting on a 45 minute stage show, sharing many of my favourite bits of magic. Its certain to be lots of fun, and even better, its FREE (though you do need to reserve tickets)! So, if youve ever asked, "hey where can I see you perform, Mr Magic?" nows your chance to see me doing a public show, without having to spend a cent. Please do come along! Please note, the show is aimed mostly towards adults and big kids. T...IX: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/robbie-ts-greatest-hits-pg- My show is part of the City of Belmonts awesome FIVE DAY "Lets Celebrate Festival". Five days of weird and wonderful performances, with all of them being free! So please check out some of the other shows as well - there really is something for everyone. @BelmontCouncilWA

05.01.2022 Twas a fun job tonight, for the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia. As you can see, I opted to keep my specs on (rare)! Special thanks to @bbcentertainmentperth for sending me. #RobbieT #Perthmagician

05.01.2022 Lovely gig last night performing strolling magic for 800 people... onstage, a short speech by the company owner and richest woman in Australia. Thanks Roy Hill and @bbcentertainmentperth for having me.

04.01.2022 Im back! Only a couple of weeks ago I announced that I was halting magic for the time being, and taking no further bookings. Im now doing a total backflip on this - and yes, I took that post down (but thanks for the kindness and the support). Let me explain... In early August I started a full time job (my first one in almost nine years). It was stressful and anxiety inducing, and coupled with a performance business, I was finding it all a bit too much. And I briefly thoug...ht that magic was what needed to go. This didnt last long. On Monday, I decided that Id got things backwards. I quit the job and felt immediate relief! I realised Id rather be my own boss and have a heaps of free time - being "funemployed" as my good friend Stuart Lightbody calls it. For me, this trumps the security of a regular pay cheque. Having no kids and no debts, makes this an easier choice, of course. The month of work gave me some clarity on my priorities. It reminded me how damn good Ive had things for the past nine years. Yes, business is much harder than it was a few years ago. For many reasons! But I guess thats business. And Ill have to adapt and evolve. I may look for other work still, but its gotta be more aligned with my values. Onward with the adventure. I really need a lime tree. :b

04.01.2022 Ill be honest, Im increasingly not a fan of doing social media. Im generally terrible at it. But this does not mean Ive not been working. Since my last post on 1/12, Ive had 25 gigs - corporate events, family events, private parties. That said, today was different. I flew to Barrow Island to perform for a massive oil and gas operation. This island is a Class A Status nature reserve, with all sorts of creatures not found anywhere else... as such, very strict quarantine ru...les apply. Once the sun went down, little bandicoots fearlessly scurried around, inches from me. Anyway, more interesting than my ageing face, are these lovely landscape shots showing the lovely colours of this sun burned country - Perth pre departure, then mainland, then coming down to the island. Had a show tonight, and another one at 6am tomorrow... a refreshingly warm and welcoming bunch, in what can at times be a challenging minesite demographic (FIFO workers). Up at 5am again tomorrow. Night! #robbiet #perthmagician #barrowisland #chevron

03.01.2022 Wednesday Weirdos - 18 September: Introducing performer 2 of 6: JAMIE MYKAELA!! When Wednesday Weirdos began three months ago, the plan was to have different performers every month. But, this particular one is sooo awesome, she has become a regular every single month, and a definite crowd favourite.... Self described glitter rat, cabaret darling and reigning comedy karaoke queen... I present once again, Jamie Mykaela! Catch her in the final instalment of WEDNESDAY WEIRDOS on 18th September. PHOTO CREDIT: The talented folks from Fearless Minds Media @Fearless Minds Media

02.01.2022 Now taking end-of-year bookings, so get in touch today. www.robbiet.com.au

02.01.2022 Beautiful photo by the very talented @piotrekziolkowski - thanks for tagging me champ, love your work. Thanks also to the lovely Bec and Will for having me at your Wedding, and Wolf Lane for being such an awesome venue. The three lasses in this image were a lot of fun. Very cheeky humour indeed from one of them (though I won’t say who).

01.01.2022 These little beasts snapped at my second venue last night, just next to the hotel entrance car park. Crappy photos, and not overly exciting for Aussies, but I thought my overseas buddies might enjoy. Note the baby in the pouch... legs poking out.
