24.01.2022 Here is another of our 10 plus kg snapper taken on @magnetfishingcharters by great friend and long time regular @danny.sammut. Danny has been fishing with us for a hell of a long time and has had many PBs but this fish he will never forget. It was early season and Id just got the new rig on the water. With a few sly reports filtering in I was chomping at the bit to get out and have a sniff around in the new Hydrofield. Always up for an exploratory mission Da...nny, myself and one other punter headed out early into the tranquil calm of Port Phillip Bay. On arrival to the area things looked fishy with multiple arches on the sounder and a spattering of bait. After deploying all the rods it didnt take to long for multiple hook ups to occur on really big angry Snapper. After landing (and losing)a few crackers in the 6 to 7 kg range the bite slowed. Making a little shift we landed on them again and Danny hooked this ripper which really tested him out. Dannys caught big fish all over the world but this Snapper had him working and boy when it came up we were ecstatic Weighing in at 10.2 kg a real brute of a snapper Well done Danny and it was also the new vessels first 20 pounder See more

It was late in the charter in glassed out conditions we were just about to call it a morning when this fish hit. With a couple of blistering runs and a very stubborn battle under the boat this 20 pounder was a great end to another fantastic day on @magnetfishingcharters

Most had already stopped fishing for Snapper that season but we were on a hot streak. Had great friend @nathan_mcneight_05 onboard and some of his mates. The morning action was hectic with a red hot bag out session in place on snapper of all sizes In freezing December conditions. 14.01.2022 Heres another brute of a snapper taken on @magnetfishingcharters by our good friend and regular client @chefflavio10 This brute was around 23 pounds and put up a crazy battle heres the story Late in the morning in beautiful spring conditions we were hopscotching around spots picking up a couple of decent snapper every move we made. All of a sudden on our last drop the inside rod buckles ridiculously hard and this fish peels some serious string. Not often I get confused ...by a big red but this particular fish had me guessing, with no head thumping and a fight very similar to a big eagle ray. 06.01.2022 Here is another cracker from 2 seasons ago. This Snapper just missed the magic 20 pound mark by one pound coming in at a respectable 19 pounds. It was a great afternoon with a top bunch of fishos who all own there own boats but wanted to fish as a group on the Magnet. These boys had been fishing for snapper most of there lives and on there first trip with me scored this stonker a PB for all onboard. As usual with a fish in this class its runs were deep and strong proving once again that to catch big snapper consistently your gear and techniques need to be top notch. 04.01.2022 Blast from the past Big day in horrendous conditions on magnets old flagship

04.01.2022 We had a couple of pics of this jumbo Snapper a couple of weeks ago but heres the rest of the pics and the story to go with it, lets just say it was another one of those epic days that Port Phillip dreams are made of. The afternoon trip started with a bang, first spot and we were into some cracking gummy sharks and nice flatties. After a great little session on the gumbos we decided to head to one of the spots Id been hitting quite a few reds over the last couple of week...s. With a glass calm afternoon and the tide running in the right direction it didnt take to long for the snapper to come on the bite. With rods going off like absolute gunshots the session was hot albeit on smaller school sized reds. During the mayhem as usually happens a monster took off and I was wrapped as good mate @kyle369 was on the rod and boy did this Snapper go hard. Like any fish over 20 pound it done some serious big runs and massive head shakes. Kyle did a fantastic job on the rod and once again it was high fives all around as Kyle scored his biggest ever Snapper a real trophy that he got mounted and we still admire to this day. Not long after that fish we hooked an absolute brute Bronze whaler Shark that kept us entertained for about half an hour cartwheeling and launching out of the calm bay waters. 02.01.2022 This Snapper is one that anglers in Victoria only dream of. This is the biggest Snapper weve ever taken on @magnetfishingcharters weighing in at an impressive 12.5 kg, heres the story The season was proving to be an absolute belter, with bag out sessions on quality snapper most afternoons. This particular day I had a heap of my army Mates onboard and the boys had come from far and wide for a session on the Magnet. This afternoon was no different and a hot bite had started ...on the start of the afternoon flood tide. It was amongst this madness that we had a crazy pack attack, a 5 way hook up on rampaging reds. During the commotion I never noticed how hard one of the fish was fighting as the quality coming onboard was in the 6 to 7 kg bracket. After landing all fish and even sending new Baits out and hooking up again one fish was still being fought. With a fair bit of stick by the boys old mate on the rod suddenly had colour and boy did we go nuts.
