18.01.2022 The key things to remember You need a fire permit if it's the Bush Fire Danger Period. Just because it's the Bush Fire Danger Period doesn't mean you can't ...use fire - but there are restrictions to ensure fire is used safely. Getting a permit is free and easy. Send an email to [email protected] or call the Shoalhaven Fire Control Centre on (02) 44244424. There are heavy penalties if you don't follow restrictions or rules. 17.01.2022 Ever wondered how fast a grass fire can move? With the @Bureau of Meteorology predicting a warm and wet spring there is likely to be good grass and crop growth across NSW. With this growth will come the increased risk of grass fires. Maintain your property, be prepared and have a plan.

14.01.2022 We can arrange for design, installation and maintenance of Bushfire Water Spray Systems including pumps, tanks and associated equipment to comply with AS5414-2012.

12.01.2022 FACT: There will never be as many fire trucks as there are houses. Do not depend on a fire truck being available at your home. But if you and your home are well... prepared, you stand a better chance of surviving a bush fire. There are simple things you can do around your home to prepare it for a bush fire, like keeping the grass low and having a cleared area around your home. 04.01.2022 Did you know...? Many State forest roads have distance markers. They're a way to 'talk to' oncoming traffic to let them know you are there. It's as simple as st...ating "Passenger vehicle at km on road, heading to " to let others know you're around. When driving on a graveled state forest road you should also: - Keep to the left - Give way to larger oncoming vehicles & pull over when safe to do so - Drive slowly. The speed limit on all forest roads is 60km/hr unless otherwise signposted. #visitnswforests #DriveSafely #takeyourtime #arrivesafe #staysafe #homesafe

03.01.2022 Ever noticed these blue reflectors on the road and wondered what they are for? In some areas, blue ‘cats eye’ reflective markers are used in the road, as a sec...ondary marker for hydrants. Alternatively, you may also find ‘H’ markings are painted on the edge of the road. #nswrfs #firesafety See more
