13.01.2022 **Announcement** Townsville V8 Supercar Event A friendly reminder to those travelling with us this week and next, with the V8 event on in the city, you may need to allow more time to get to our terminal for your scheduled departure, due to certain road closures.... The Boundary Street and Charters Towers Rd sections of the circuit will be closed between 23 August and 7 September inclusive. Traffic diversions and signage will be in place during this time. All racing activity is conducted on Saturday and Sunday only. There is no racing during school hours Monday to Friday. Traffic Controllers will be in place to help guide and direct any vehicles that may need it. As you may know, you're required to arrive at our terminal at least 20 minute prior to allow time to board safely. 10.01.2022 Did you know The Great Barrier Reef Marine park receives 6 of the world’s 7 species of Sea Turtles. Two of those use Magnetic Island as a nesting site. We mostly get Flatbacks nesting on the island, but there have been reports of Green Turtles as well. November to March is nesting season so keep an eye out around the island.

The management and staff at Magnetic Island Ferries have learnt a lot through the COVID19 experience. ... One thing we have discovered is the need to better facilitate our services for Island residents and mainland visitors. As a result of these changes we will be running our timetable ‘on the hour’. Yes, on the hour! This makes it easier for everyone to remember, provides more suitable departure and arrival times (these changes have been supported by frank and clear feedback from stakeholders) and most importantly, allows our crew more time to load you, and your vehicle, on and off with even greater safety. As you may know, we add extra vessels during peak times to make sure everyone can get to the Island and return as required.
