25.01.2022 It's Game Day! Good luck to our U16 Steelcats team and coaching staff as they arrive at Nissan Arena in Brisbane to start their weekend of competition. Stay tuned for game scores and updates on the team throughout the next could of days!

25.01.2022 Players, coaches and umpires from throughout our region attended Netball Queensland Emerging Talent Program (ETP) in Townsville over the Weekend! They all participated in development sessions, presented by NQ, followed by game play by players, with selectors looking on, to identify up and coming talent and select our U16 Steelcats team to compete at the Nissan 16U State Titles. Teams will assemble in Brisbane for the Nissan State 16U Titles to be held at the Nissan Arena from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 22nd September. Selected Teams will be announced by NQ mid August with training commencing soon after. Thank you to all volunteers involved with assisting on the day and to our committee.

With the sad news given at the end of last season that our Opens Steelcats team had played their last competition, ending an era of Player Development opportunities in our region, Magnetic North Netball have recently received GREAT news to ensure a development state competition team and the 'Steelcats' brand from our region can stay alive in 2020! NQ has announced their Emerging Talent Program will be going ahead for 2020 with registrations now open for players, developing coaches and/or umpires, for our clinic on 25 July in Townsville. Our U16 Steelcats team to attend Nissan 16U State Tiltes in September will be identified/selected from particpants who attend this clinic. ... 13.01.2022 Congratulations to the successful players who have been selected as a member of our Steelcats U16 team and training partners to contest the 2020 Nissan State Titles. This announcement follows the conclusion of our selection clinic in Townsville in July, as part of Netball Queensland’s Emerging Talent Program. The ten players and four training partners will attend three training sessions presented here in Townsville by coaching staff before the team of 10 travel to Brisbane to... represent our Magnetic North region at the 2020 Nissan State Titles at Nissan Arena, from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 22nd September. 13.01.2022 Not long to go now until the Netball Qld Nissan State Titles commences, where our U16 Steelcats team , Coaches and Manager will travel to Brisbane for 3-action packed days of competition this weekend. Over the last 3 weeks, the team has been training hard under the coaching of Sonya Lampton and Maddyn White with tonight being the last session before they depart Saturday. 07.01.2022 REMINDER to ALL REGISTERED PLAYERS for our ETP Clinic THIS WEEKEND! An email has been sent with important information regarding what is REQUIRED BY PLAYERS BEFORE ATTENDING on Saturday! Please check you inboxes and read! Please arrive 15 mins early to allow for signing in and come fully dressed and ready for warmup including strapping/tapping (if required). ... Please wear suitable WHITE TRAINING SINGLET (no team/club logos and/or minimum branding) Bring your own towell, lunch and plenty of water (no canteen facilitlies will be available) ***COVIDSafe Guidelines to FOLLOW while at venue*** SOCIAL DISTANCING - 1.5m needs to be maintained by ALL particpants and officials at all times, while off court. PARENTS/SPECTATORS - NO SPECTATORS will be permitted to stay at the venue during the clinic due to limited space avialable. ENTRY/EXITS - will be clearly marked and required by the venue to be followed at all times with hand sanitizing available on entry and throughout the day at intervals. ATTENDANCE RECORDING - everybody will be recorded using a unique QR code to scan upon entry using a smartphone device OR have the option of recording details on paper list for contact tracing use only if required.

06.01.2022 16U STEELCATS NISSAN STATE TITLES WRAP UP... A hugh congratulations to our U16 Steelcats team and staff who have returned from Brisabane after competeing at the 2020 Netball Queensland Nissan State Titles. Over the three days of competition our girls took on some of the best players in the state. Magnetic North Netball Region Clinic Date - Saturday 25th July... PLAYERS - Players turning 15 or 16 this year (born 2004 or 2005), are invited to self-register via the MyNetball link on the NQ website. While any player can register themselves, it is important that players, parents and coaches understand that this program is aimed at players who are already performing above many of their peers. COACHES - Especially aimed at Coaches with "Development" Accreditation level and above. Coaches with an interest in taking their coaching further are also encouraged to attend. UMPIRES - Especially aimed at C & B Badged umpires and all umpires interested in developing their skills and aiming to umpire at State Age, 16U State Title and/or Vicki Wilson Championships.
