25.01.2022 "I am so proud of my daughter, who has learnt so much. She is a really clever painter, and I have enjoyed watching her become the artist she is today. I am proud to be telling this story for this year’s NATISAA. Our work is about two generations of women coming together, holding our stories strong. 22.01.2022 This is about discipline and kids. The ways we had to grow up compared to what happens now. In the middle is what happened to us when we were locked up behind bars, they would beat us. On the right thats the police man yelling to us shut your mouth, dont tell anyone what happened inside the cell or we will flog you again. In the middle, somebody, teen hang himself because of abuse from the cop. Found dead in cell behind bars. Now days, these kids dont get flogged and th...e young kids come and steal from the Guwardi Mob (aged care). On the left this means what happens to the kids with no discipline, no more hunting fishing or teaching our kids the meaning of the land. Now they turn to drugs, sniffing glue, drink and stealing. - John Prince Siddon . 2020 Telstra NATSIAA Finalist John Prince Siddon Fitzroy Crossing, WA No Respect 2020 synthetic polyment paint on canvas 120 x 240 cm
