24.01.2022 Closing Down Sale - Noon Sunday to Thursday Well its the end of an era I suppose, we have shut off the ovens, weve switched off the toaster, and at noon tomorrow, well turn the dial on the trusted old Cimbali coffex machine 2 clicks to the left, and with that, the Magpie Cafe will be closed. Weve had joy, weve had fun, weve had moments in the sun, but these hills.... wait, sorry, our bad... now were just quoting Westlife accidentally....... However, theres no funny twist, or comical spin we can put on this one, our little cafe in the hills has come to an end, with a heavy heart, we bid it a fond and teary farewell, but as they say, all good things... So were having a 3 day closing down sale starting Noon Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday , were selling it all, so if you want a little piece of the Magpie Cafe to take home, your favourite chair or coffee mug, the pots, pans saucepans, knives, and countless other kitchen tools from behind the scenes we use to prepare your meals everyday, even the coveted Cimbali coffex is up for grabs. 24.01.2022 2 Days Left! There's still a whole bunch of bargains up for grabs, I dug out so much Tupperware today... You wouldn't believe it, matching the lids is ridiculous... Seriously, there was one that had a lid about 3mm too small, I spent so much time trying to make it fit properly, I mean honestly, I've given up on relationships quicker than I gave up on fitting this lid! Turns out it was the wrong lid, but that's beside the point...

22.01.2022 Morning Magpies, theres only two words for a morning like this, SOUP! Fair enough, thats technically one word, but I have two soups today, so it all works out. We have a creamy butternut, and a roasted carrot and fennel to get you through the cold spell. Of course warming coffee, and hot chocolate is always a winner too! Stay warm.

21.01.2022 Dear Magpies, As it turns out, the powers that be have decreed that next Sunday (14th) is an electricity maintenance day for Main Street, Upwey. In other words, well be closed because there will be no electricity. This means that our scheduled Pagan Coffee Meet for that day will have to be moved up a week to the 21st. With extra ganache-y chocolate, it looks all rocky and chocolate-y, covered in choc-chips that are bound to give you an extra boost to an already chocolate-y cake. I confess, it didnt turn out quite as pretty as the previous ones - Im out of practice - but I guarantee it tastes uber! So all you people that have been craving this cake, its back with a vengeance!
