We are very pleased to advise that we have successfully entered a Men's team in the Western Suburbs Night Tennis competition beginning next Tuesday. We almost had enough players for 2 teams! :) By the way, if anyone is interested in playing as an emergency this year, or as a regular player in the next season, beginning February 2020, please let me know. 11.01.2022 Below is the Tennis Victoria Update following the Governments announcement that tennis can resume from today. TV is seeking further clarity in relation to the following point: "Groups of up to 10 are allowed from a maximum of 2 households. We don’t yet know if this is per court or per venue and whether or not a coach will be included in the 10." Once the above issue has been determined, MTC will make a further announcement on the use of our facilities. Hang in there. We're nearly there! :)

11.01.2022 We're pleased to advise that tennis can resume in Melbourne based on certain government directions. Refer to the Tennis Victoria Update below for further details. As our club is located within Footscray North Primary School, we need to have authorisation from the Department of Education to open our facility. We are working closely with FNPS, to provide all the necessary information to ensure that we comply with all the requirements to operate within a safe COVID-19 environmen...t. The good news is that we are very close to re-opening. Further information will be provided once we are 'good to go'. Upon re-opening, everyone using our facilities will be required to register, either by a QR Code, or texting details to the Club Secretary. Information will be retained in case it is requested by the Department of Health. The data will be deleted after 28 days. Furthermore, the current requirements are a maximum of 10 people can use the facility at any one time, and each group on court, singles or doubles, must come from no more than 2 households.

10.01.2022 Important Update: Our courts at Footscray North Primary School are OUTSIDE the new Maidstone lockdown zone. Therefore, we can still use our facility! :) I presume the courts at Norfolk St will be closed by the council as they are in the lockdown postcode 3012. Please continue to adhere to social distancing and hand hygiene whilst at the club.

Please refer to the information provided to us from Tennis Victoria: Following the Victorian Government announcement on 30 June 2020, restrictions are to be enacted for suburbs declared COVID-19 ‘Hot Zones’ from 11.59pm on Wednesday 1 July. As per Government guidance on the DHHS website, ‘com...munity sport training and competition cannot occur within a restricted postcode. 04.01.2022 Breaking News: Congratulations to our Men's Night Competition team. They broke through for their first ever win last night! Well done lads. There was talk of finals action. Must be due to September being around the corner. However, we're taking it one week at a time..... On the downside, yours truly popped something in my foot, and I'm now on crutches. New and enhanced lighting, and 2, Book a Court (Tennis Australia's online tennis court booking system).
